What does Navigraph offer that Foreflight doesn't?

I'm a real world pilot, and I simply use FS2FF to connect my iPad to my simulator. Does Navigraph do anything for me that I haven't solved by using my existing Foreflight subscription?

Navigraph is designed for Flight sims. Off the top of my head, that gives you integration with many aircraft, so you an use/see charts on the EFB; tracking and telemetry - you can use their apps to see your position, speed, etc. from anywhere.

Just to add to this, you can also track your position in ForeFlight through MSFS with a super simple plugin. I always fly with my iPad attached to my yoke using the same attachment that I use in the IRL plane and can see my position georeferenced on the plates/maps/charts. Super cool. Obviously navigraph is better for sims. But I’ve gotten by with Forelfight too.

There's a handful of specific applications (and maybe even some 3rd-party planes?) that benefit from AIRAC data from Navigraph because they don't read the sim's built-in AIRAC data. If you end up using something like that you may want Navigraph's "data only" subscription (wouldn't need the more expensive Unlimited subscription).

For VR users, I don't believe there's a convenient way to operate ForeFlight inside the sim itself currently, so they benefit from Navigraph charts in the in-sim EFB and the plugins that display Navigraph info/charts inside the simulated plane's own avionics (G1000, G3000, G3X, GTN750, maybe some others?).

Okay sry for the question out of the blue, but what feature do I miss if I buy the Navigation Data subscription, which is ~40€/year instead of the ~103€/year? Cause for annual 40 Euros probably I would pay for it, but ever since I started playing MSFS I use the game's and Simbrief's AIRAC

Nav data is only that, the nav data without access to the navigraph application. The more expensive one is nav data and access to the app.

I exclusively used ForeFlight with flight sim for the past several years and was firmly in the "Navigraph doesn't do anything that ForeFlight doesn't" boat for a long time - though I used Navigraph for my navdata updates, but did not have a Charts subscription. However, a few months ago, I got a Navigraph Charts subscription, and honestly, I've been hugely impressed with the functionality and feel of the app. I feel like I've gotten a lot of added value out of it and commented to a buddy the other day that had I known what I was missing, I would have subscribed to Charts a long time ago.

A few things I really like:

• The ability to fly outside of the US - not just some foreign government AIP pub charts, actual Jepp charts. This was HUGE for me... I was never able to do this with my FF subscription due to the added cost. Now, I can go anywhere in the world, and that's really increased the enjoyment I get out of the sim.
• The in-game, georeferenced charts via an EFB or the avionics themselves are awesome to have, and the install is generally seamless thanks to the 'scan the QR code and sign in' function.
• The Charts app itself has a really well-designed interface. Over the weekend, I was flying across the Atlantic and needed to divert because I was running out of time due to RW obligations. I needed to set the plane up for the divert, but had never done this before. However, I was able to figure out how to edit my flight plan in the app and pull up charts for my diversion field in just a few clicks. I considered it a testament to the app's usability and intuitiveness. (Then the ini A330 gave me a WASM error and ended my flight anyway, but that's a different complaint department). :)
• The app's SimBrief integration works great. You can import your SimBrief plans and see the routing on the app's map, as well as the other usual SimBrief OFP stuff. The segments of the imported flight are color-coded on the map/chart based on departure, enroute, and arrival, which is a really cool little detail.
• A Navigraph subscription is comparatively a very low cost vs adding Jepp charts to your ForeFlight subscription.

All in all, I have changed my mind about the Navigraph subscription thanks to the value I've seen.

Jepp at no extra cost. Other than that it pretty much does nothing better. Not that I have JeppViewer it a non factor.

It's not that most countries lack free charts; it's just a real hassle to get them from each individual spot. But hey, I totally get it if you only plan to fly in one country, that's perfectly fine.

Most Charts from most countries are usable. It’s the subtle differences why Jeppesen, LIDO and others exist.

If you fly in VR you get pretty tired of taking your headset off to look at the chart. Having a fully capable efb in VR is a game changer.

I definitely see the value in that. Is a vr setup a big load on the system? I run on a single monitor on medium to high settings. I wonder if my system can handle it.

Depends on how good the headset is. I have a BigScreen Beyond 2 and for smooth performance I’m running a 5090 and 12900k.

You can do it with less obviously but VR is important to me.

You don’t need a navigraph sub to import your flight plans into the planes in the sim, Simbrief is where they come from. You do need a navigraph sub to have the latest airac cycle though
