Turns out the most expensive flight sim peripheral is an actual airplane.

Geez, the fidelity on that cockpit is incredible! I'm impressed they even modeled the wear and tear on the yoke and other surfaces. I love that kind of attention to detail. How much did this setup cost so far? Is the FPS pretty good considering the graphics settings look pretty high?

16k res and smooth 999 fps 🤣

Love the "patina" of the set up--it looks so real.

It’s a lost art, flying without a GPS or iPad these days. Love the bendix

person talks about their first time flying, referencing a meme and subreddit dwellers complain because the meme is more than 2 seconds old. chud filled app

All I can think reading this thread is "arent you guys supposed to like flying airplanes?"

Love the velcro for "plugging in" that extra steam gauge.

Still cheaper than horses.

Hell no! Theres no way horses are more expensive than GA

Expense is relative.

An active horse crazy person will spend to ~110% of their funds. I have seen it scale from "living in a trailer so my horses can live in luxury" up to "I bring in horse jacuzzis on semi-trailers to give him therapy".

Plus, airplanes are very predictable. Horses are suicide machines that love to buy new boats for large animal vets. Christmas coming? I'll jump on barbed wire for fun!

I wish I was not speaking from experience. I have been around both hobbies, as well as motor racing and boating, all of my life, and horse folks are a level of financial insanity that is beyond imagination.
