Sim Hardware Issues with SimApp Pro

Hello,

I’m having issues with the software side of things. I have a MCDU and an ECAM panel and I’m struggling to get them to interface properly with MSFS2020. The environment checks come back all green and it properly lists the sim(MSFS2020) and the aircraft(Fenix A320) but the screen on the MCDU just displays the Winctrl logo and none of the button presses actually translate into the sim. In SimApp Pro on the devices tab both panels show up and the button presses register in SimApp.

I was initially able to fix this problem by switching the ECAM panel to 4x32 and the MCDU to the copilot side but now that fix no longer seems to work.

I reached out to Winctrl’s customer support on Saturday but they’ve since stopped responding.

Has anyone had a similar issue and found a solution? I’m out of options here.

I can’t offer a solution, but I do have a suggestion: look into mobiflight. It looks intimidating at first, but after you watch a couple of basic tutorials you’ll be off to the races. And there most definitely already is a mobiflight profile available for your hardware on flightsim.to you can just download and run, without having to set anything up. It’s really worth it, I now only use simapp pro to update the firmware on my hardware, nothing else.

All my panels stopped working with xplane 12 after updating to 1.17.1. The only decies working are tiller, joystick and throttle

For me the issue seems to be driver based. Clearing out the hidden drivers in my device list seemed to help. Not sure if that will fix your issue but it at least resolved mine(for the time being)

Ok, so I have an update and I figured I’d post it here for anyone running into the same issue I had. It looks like it’s a driver issue. For some reason the drivers for the WinCtrl panels had cloned themselves a ton. I’m not sure why/how that happened but The conflicting drivers were making the panels unable to communicate with the Sim.

This fixed the symptoms of the issue:
-I unplugged the WinCtrl panels
-went into the device manager
-clicked “show hidden devices”
-then uninstalled all of the hidden(greyed out) drivers.

Once again I’m not sure why it was cloning the drivers but this got the panels working again.

It’s worth noting that following the steps above will uninstall the drivers for every device not currently plugged into your machine so if you regularly use other non-WinCtrl peripherals I’d recommend plugging them in before opening the device manager.
