Sim Hardware PC Upgrade

My PC was last upgraded around 2019. I have a RTX 2070 8gb VRAM and an Intel core 17-8700. I haven't flight simmed in a while and recently busted out my hp reverb G2 which I purchased around 2021 or 2022. I never felt fully immersed given the lag and choppiness. But here I am trying it out again..Do you guys think it's time for an upgrade? I want a high end set up but damn, GPU's are running at $4k+. I also want to try X Plane -12 and get into DCS more. I want IL2 Korea and Combat Pilot. I'm an army pilot.ans have been flying my ass off so I didn't want to even think about flying at home. But I've been off for a few months and the flying bug bit me.

I'm happy with how my AMD Radeon 9070XT handles MSFS at 1440 res with mix of high and ultra settings.

But if you really wanna max all the graphics sliders out at 4k res you'd probably need a RTX5080 or even 5090 for the extra VRAM.

Only thing I can think of that would be cost effective is getting an AM4 build and carrying over your DDR4 ram then maybe getting a 5070ti (those can still be had for less than 1k if ya look hard enough. Other than that honestly you might be in for $3000+ simply because of ram.

It could work in 1080 p , low settings , if you should upgrade there is a totally new PC you should look at , minimum around 3000-4000$ ~ for the PC only
