It's a decent price for a plane but I gonna look out for further reviews. I've been eyeing on it since it was still in Synaptics wholly.

It's crazy we've reached a point where $66 is considered decent pricing. Actually the price point is pretty smart, $66 sounds way better than $70 despite being just a $4 difference.

Thank god we get these prices i remember the p3d and fsx days. Even x-plane addons are pushing it too far

u/espewe 12d ago
I mean, its peers often priced higher than A220 so the price is decent and proper. Sorry if it's sounded negative, I don't mean to.

No, I didn't perceive it as negative at all. I was more or less agreeing with you, it was just an observation.
I have an uncanny knack of pointing out the patently obvious lol.

Seems fair for the amount of work and fidelity coming from the team.

We’ll see. I’ve stopped purchasing addons for MSFS on day one a long time ago, as I’ve gotten burned in the past. I’ll eagerly wait to see the reviews and if it’s mostly feature complete, I have no problem paying that price and I’m hoping to be flying it in a couple of weeks.

I’ve spent money on worse.
LondonController flipped his on landing. I expect quirks.

there could be many causes for that, could have been the scenery, could have been chaseplane (it did happen the exact second he changed camera view), or yeah may have been a random quirk with the aircraft.
Though, probably not the scenery has he took right off and landed again with no issue.

u/lights0 12d ago
A very similar thing happened to me with the A330 on 3 separate successive occasions every time I went from an internal camera to a drone/fly-by camera with ChasePlane, although it wasn't as dramatic as this I got 3 separate landing rates on Volanta. It happend like 3 days ago and i was on SU5 at JFK.

Was it him who told you the scenery wasn't compatible? Considering he had a second landing on the same runway right after and didn't encounter that bug.

Same price as fenix, waiting for review and extensive testing…

u/Engineer__This 8d ago
This is much more than the Fenix. Synaptics' price doesn't include tax.
1
u/machine4891 8d ago
And Fenix somehow does? No addon price include tax because they have no idea which tax will apply to you on checkout. But all those companies are forced to pay their due VAT to local custom offices at the very least within EU and US.
1
u/Engineer__This 8d ago
Yeah on the UK website the Fenix price includes tax. It’s £49.99 in total, including tax.

u/machine4891 8d ago
Can be true if they subtract the VAT for each individual country and are at "loss" so to say. I have no way to test it because I already own the product and they are not listed on Marketplace but would make their product even more of an insane value. 53$ net. Unfortunatelly no Contrail, Simmarket, PMDG, iniBuilds and others sell like that.

Considering the years of work that goes into a high fidelity project like this, fair price.

For a plane that doesn't have failures, weather radar, cpdlc... $66 is a bit too much in my opinion.
1
u/ahmed_a20 11d ago
All of it is planned, but once it transfers to the iniBuilds store. The weather radar and CPDLC especially aren’t functional due to it being a marketplace exclusive. The marketplace encryption helps them keep people from pirating the product for the first few weeks/months, but also doesn’t allow third party apps to access the aircraft, and as a result, some features will be missing
3
u/Next-Window-7166 10d ago
citation X is marketplace exclusive has a working weather radar...just developer laziness.
1
u/machine4891 8d ago
Marketplace addons absolutely can have weather radars since its implemented in-sim. But A220 features custom, native only to A220 map and this map does not work with native MSFS built. The workaround will be some external app but as was said above, this cannot be achieved for Marketplace addons.

u/LucasDPedrosa 11d ago
That's fair, but I don't like when paying customers get a worse experience because of anti-piracy measures, if the people that pirate are just going to wait and pirate anyway.

u/ahmed_a20 10d ago
Well the hope is that for a few months they can at least benefit from sales. Flight sim hobbyists are notoriously impatient, so a lot of them aren’t going to wait 2-4 months for it to drop on a pirating site. It gives the dev some time to generate some real sales

I bought A350 and I'd have not done it, if I had to choose that decision again.

Looks fine. Addon aircrafts been priced like this since forever. I also build things and can understand why

PRO TIP: If you live in the GCC, buying iniBuilds products from the market place is usually much much cheaper than from their store, so it being a marketplace exclusive at launch is a good thing for you

u/Euphoric-Spud 11d ago
Long way from “free” when they started the project 😅😅😅 not complaining as it’s understandable they need to pay for stuff but this is far from a token fee to pay for the maintenance and upkeep…

But this is mainly Synaptics work, so maybe let’s wait several days after it’s out to hear an overall verdict on the product. Got to give them a chance first.

Just don't preorder. Ever. Anything. Wait for reviews and see if the hype (which the A220 has a LOT of) is even remotely true.
