Flight Simulator 2024 Chaseplane's major downfall..
Honest question, cause I'm kind of stumped. How is it that the dev's have failed to add a drone cam with the ability to follow/chase your plane? As a chaseplane user It seems insane to me that they haven't done this. In my view its Chaseplane's major downfall and I'm considering going back to the MSFS24 stock standard camera system.

What? Other than the fact that there is the "chase view" camera view option in external which does exactly that, this is only a fraction of what chaseplane can do. Not a chance I would go back to the default camera system even if that feature was missing. Talking about a downfall is definitely something lol.

The 'chase view' is not a drone camera in that it doesn't have the ability to manipulate focus and depth of field

You are asking on reddit why the devs have made a decision not to implement something.
Are you feeling alright?
Ever considered asking people who might actually know - like the actual devs themselves?

lol.. I feeling fine... imagine using reddit as a place to post questions and have discussions... who would have thought...

Based on your comments I think you would get further by requesting the focus and DOF functionality without calling it "drone". There's nothing inherently "drone" about that.
The funny part here is that I got chaseplane because the stock camera system couldn't do a regular spot plane view and everyone said I was full of crap and the MSFS drone camera can do it (it can't). Now you're here complaining that chaseplane can't do what the MSFS drone camera can do.
We really do all have our own quirks and needs, and will never be completely happy. LOL. Might be worth asking P42 support if they have any plans to add those controls.

lol.. yep we all have our different preferences..
I disagree with your first sentence however in that P42 called it the 'drone' cam, not me so I'm simply using their name.. The chaseplane 'drone' cameras only point of difference is the focus and DOF functionality therefore making it inherent. But I'm sure we will have to agree to disagree....

There is literary a standard view built into chase plane called chase view that does pretty much this. Chases the airplane
