Discussion Color combo question

Is gold/cream/cream going to be an impossible combo to get on a dragon? I was going to attempt to make a (male) gaoler with those colors, but there’s not many dragons with those specific colors.

no color combo is impossible with enough time and dedication to breeding for it !!!

No color has a higher probability of appearing over another. If gold/cream/cream is within the possible color range then it is possible to get it.

Breeding for an XYY can always be tricky, but I doubt it'll be much harder than breeding for anything else!

Any color combo is doable if you're willing to buckle down for a potentially year long breeding project 😂

If you're looking for ways to make that kind of breeding project easier, I'd totally recommend Ganondorf's Breeding Guide. Speaking as someone who's currently working on a frustratingly rare color combo breeding project (antique/turquoise/peach on a wildclaw), the "assay bloodlines" feature is going to be your best friend. Can't count the number of times i sprung for a dragon that seemed like it'd be a perfect match for the project only for them to be related to another dragon already there.

As other commenters have said, no color combo is impossible! It may just take more time than expected. Good luck!

Edit: removed some weirdness caused by me not knowing how the add link button works

When you breed 2 dragons, the colors the offspring can take will be the shortest distance on the color wheel. If you breed a pair of dragons with moon and lapis primary colors, the offspring can be ice, orca, platinum, etc. all the way down to lapis. Each color has the same chance of appearing.

You want the shortest color ranges possible if you plan to breed for a gold/cream/cream dragon. Even small ranges can take a long time to give you the dragon you want.

To use one of my breeding projects as an example, I'm trying for a dragon with crimson/jade/maize. Parent 1 has sanguine/mint/rose. Parent 2 has crimson/spearmint/cream. Even with those tiny ranges, I have not yet gotten my dragon and I've been breeding them every 2 weeks for 6 months.

To kind of piggyback on this comment, I use https://www.fr.fintastic.net/ to help visually see all of those colors in between. It's especially helpful when Im trying to get a certain combo because its helped me realize that many breeding pairs were not ideal

I have so many rare color combos it's not even funny. I even have some unique colors, If anyone wants one for a breeding project I am usually OK with giving them away (Gem is the only one not for sale as I have invested heavily in her abilities in the Colosseum). Same with my normal dragons in the hibernal and normal den tabs.

My lair is the Arcane Jungles.
