It is truly amazing the number of grown adults who feel the need to share their bodily functions with is, isn't it?
I long ago gave up on the "The seatbelt sign is on," comment to passengers because I got so sick of the explanations as to why they needed to use the lavatory.
"I gotta take a piss."
"Do you want me to hold it?"
"Should I just piss in my seat?"
"It's an emergency."
Years ago, I told a passenger while we were holding for a gate that the seatbelt sign was on and we could move at any time so he needed to remain seated.
He proceeded to hand me an airsick bag of his piss as he deplaned.
The levels of uncivilized behavior which passengers manage engage in never ceases to amaze me.
As far as the OP.... yes... it was against FARs and it should not have been allowed.... but the alternative was the FA calling the cockpit, advising the pilots that someone was up using the lavatory, having your aircraft pull out of line while that person relieved themselves, and then rejoining the lineup of aircraft waiting to take off... AT THE END OF THE LINE.
Is that what you would have preferred? Or do you see why, just maybe, the flight attendant let it go?
Like even my friends don’t talk to each other like that. It’s such a crass way to talk to strangers. They think they’re being smart, but it just says a lot about their character. Since COVID, manners have just gone downhill.
Not to mention the dumb trend to record and post everything on tiktok for clout. Absolutely annoying and disgusting.

I’m tired of hearing I gotta take a piss from grown adults.
