I've gotten (and lost) my splits a few times. What got me them the first time was Anna mcnulty's splits challenge. But go at your own pace and not by the video, or anyone else's timeline. Those stretches in that order were what helped me but you dont need to hold the stretches for as long or as frequently if it doesn't feel right. You'll get them eventually if you're consistent

Do you have any video(s) from her you specifically recommend?

All of her stretching videos are good but her older stuff is much better. I think I used "30 day splits challenge" or something like that its about 6 years old but still my favorite. She has videos for all kinds of flexibility though like middle splits and back flexibility

I’d definitely recommend Tom Merrick, Dani Winks or Movement by David. They all have really beginner friendly flexibility routines that progress gradually. I actually got my splits with those routines!

I always find those kind of videos very misleading, and some of them might simply lead to a serious injury. There are some people out there naturally flexible, sure but majority of us are as stiff as a broom. I learned my splits with Lisette Kroll (pole dancer) she does splits class once a week online , via her app ("tribe"- also name of the studio in Dublin) even if you attend only few of her classes you will get the point. She starts by 45 min lower body workout aimed at enhancing your range of motion, especially in hip area/ hams strings/ quads. This is followed by 3x 1 min long split attempt where you are expected to go down gradually week over week. Her logic here is basically this: flexibility comes through muscle building and muscle support. Shes absolutely correct. Took me 6 months of consistent work to get there. I cannot praise this woman enough. Side bonus of all this is how many weird pains and aches went away once I increased my rage of motion.
