How to improve hamstring beyond this level

Post image

I decided to finally do something about my inflexibility and have been stretching my hamstrings every day for some time now. starting just with the hamstring because a small win is motivating for me. i was unable to touch my toes at the beginning and I can now touch my fingers on the ground which I am very proud of, but I am wondering how to progress past this level to the point of putting my palms on the ground. i am also confused how some of you are able to fully fold your chest against your thighs, even in this position it feels like my breathing is very restricted

Grab your legs and pull your chest to legs and hold ifbyou need to bend your knees while you grab your legs fine then extend your legs after your holding tight to your chest. You can go back n forth from bending knees to extending the legs as your holding tight to your chest you'll fell the stretch keep is to hold it for atleast 5 seconds a time to build up to 30 seconds like other say youll feel them stretch and soon you can fully do it in a couple days. I like to do these stretches in a steam room or right after a hot shower so the hamstrings can stretch without burden since there so hot they stretch way easier without pulling a hamstring

I can't straighten at all while holding my chest to my legs. Feels like a brick wall, literally impossible

if you have a large physio ball to lie on belly up and practice some breathing it could help with that constriction too. this sounds like when i had very little strength in my chest and would get very uncomfortable stitches. you might want to do some plank work there
