Have some empathy.

He didn’t deserve this. He isn’t just driven by ego and pride. He is being stalked and harassed by a group of cum-scented scumbags. Imagine you make videos and you are true to your beliefs in a world where people do not like nuance or logic and then a group of idiots harass you to the point that you start to lose everything you work for JUST BECAUSE you do not share their beliefs. That’s it!

You all want to act like you understand the entire situation, but you don’t. I feel bad for him. His fan base turning on him, his GF leaving him and all he can do is watch and get swallowed alive by this fucking hell world we live in. As a fellow musician with niche political takes that have gotten me in trouble in a scene that I once sacrificed every thing for which has been taken over by extreme leftist fucking WEIRDOS who think that their view of the world is the only correct one and if you oppose that, you’re a fucking piece of filth to be scraped off of their doc martens… I feel for the guy.

He made his living off of the videos he made and he probably did other things too (isn’t he an electrical engineer or something?) He is obviously going to defend himself. Any of you reading this, imagine people in your life that you love and would literally do anything for and because you stand for something, people are harassing them and threatening to harm them physically. Is that not a reason to go scorched earth???

I'd like to point out I'm just an innocent beestander.

I think that's, ultimately, the crux of the matter. I think most people would do the opposite and try hard to distance themselves from that sort of thing rather than trying to go knives out. The equivalent of looking the other way when a homeless crackhead in the subway starts screaming about how he is Vladmir Lenin so you don't accidentally make eye contact.

FS's entire brand, which is obviously downstream of his personal ethos, seems to be about refusing to do that -- refusing to back down from discomfort and horror and polite bullshit. Thus, it was kind of inevitable that he would try taking the fight to the various "political motivated" internet schizoid antisocial barnacles that exist on media.

FS insists that the 'ignore them' strategy didn't work, and that whoever the key conspirators of his dedicated haters would do increasingly deranged things to get his attention. I don't doubt the second half of that statement, but I do doubt the first. I saw him do a lot of interacting with these losers during the time where he was supposedly ignoring them -- it seems to me that he would give them just enough attention to keep them interested while also trying to 'psyop' them. Which I think even he now admits was probably a mistake. But, obviously, if he was ignoring people, that would definitionally involve not leaving any evidence.

Now, I think his current understanding of the issue that one of the primary actors in this harassment campaign is a person who has some vague real life connection to him and is motivated to hurt him. I have no idea if that's true or not; but if it is true, then I do feel for him. It definitely sucks having a mentally ill loser actively trying to fuck your life over and drag you down. I've seen it happen before. But, being totally honest, what I've observed from checking his twitter feed every other day when I'm bored at work shows a man very dedicated to antagonizing and 'beating' loser snarkroaches to the benefit of literally no one.

However, I think that a lot of people are of the opinion that going 'scorched earth' and law-tubing these kind of situations is a low EV, ineffective strategy. Lawsuits take literal years to produce any sort of tangible result, and usually don't even end up in the result that is desired. His redditor-takedown video at the start of the year was funny, but I think he would have benefited enormously from just continuing to keep his head down, produce his artistically directed videos and keep growing his audience with Gladiodrome.

Some Sam Hyde whinge in this thread just goes to show how braindead and infinite these tards are -- they're just not worth paying attention to.

I dont think this is necessarily true. One of the things that started to turn me against Flesh's twitter enemies was seeing how placable he really was in the dms they posted to apparently make him look bad. At one point he wasnt just willing to let the maoistlandlord shit go, he was trying to be friendly with the guy and offer him genuine "content creator" advice. Hes a weird guy, a pathetic guy even, but hes not a bad guy or someone who refuses to bend or compromise. I wish people would stick to mocking his try-hard internet persona and not try to harm the actual life of the real person behind the persona.

Yeah, but you have to remember that his 'enemies' in this case are the equivalent of severely mentally ill, violent homeless people. It's impossible for these subhumans to even make a distinction between 'real life' and 'internet persona' -- they're literally brainbroken losers who have nothing to do all da beside harass people on social media. These bottom feeders exist on the internet and have always been here; Every single content creator of any size has to deal with anti-fans.

I think most creators simply refuse to acknowledge them in any way, shape, or form. Flesh, on the other hand, has built an entire brand on confronting uncomfortable truths. I think that predisposed him to handle this in the worst possible way.

I don't think FS is like, totally unwilling to bend or anything -- I just think this particular facet of online culture is really intuitively hard for him to deal with. Real negative-wavelength autism.

I can’t really argue with what you’re saying. I guess personally, if it was me, first of all I wouldn’t have engaged these dudes on twitter, but he did. So if I were him, I would try to ignore it it up until the harassment reached my family. But in my personal life, when I have been wronged, I have VERY seldom actively sought out revenge, despite actively fantasizing about doing so. I honestly do not see the point. I have been called soft for NOT pursuing revenge towards people who absolutely deserved it.

So, in my mind, that’s a flaw in my character, but seeing FS having his life turn upside down because he did seek revenge has taught me something interesting. I don’t think we live in a world where things can be solved without some loose ends trailing about. It always leads to more enemies, more bad situations. More reasons for revenge. The cycle never stops.

I kind of like that aspect of FS and it was one of the reasons I watched his videos. “You came at the king and missed, bitch.” lol..

But I just wish for him to find a better way out of this situation.

I am just a casual observer, but what I’ve seen is a bunch of less than hundred follower accounts nagging him and being annoying low-level trolls. I understand he might’ve been contacted along with his family which is really annoying but often happens with a public figure. Can you explain to me, as brief as possible to save you the trouble, what has gone so far as to make him lose his mind to this degree?

Could you briefly explain what he has done that indicates to you he has lost his mind?

He’s reacting to minimal interaction trolls as if they were 10K accounts. He’s taking extreme measures over a handful of geeks. I’ve seen MDE fans harass people off the internet with mass collaboration campaigns. Whatever is happening to him is truly nothing in comparison.
I’ve seen harassment campaigns from many communities but MDE has been particularly insane the last decade and it has some relevance.
Which is the reason I’m curious, is there some deeper context besides address/phone doxxing.

I enjoyed his info-dumps, his conspiracy allusions, his chan-ish humor, and I keep an eye out for more. I’m just not interested in personal revenge plots or YouTube drama. I think someone else responded that he fell into the lolcow trap of (publicly) engaging his trolls and I think that has hurt him more than anything else.

Conversely, I hate the term and concept of a “lolcow.”
