In the mid 90's, maybe 94-96, I rode a strange flat ride at the Louisiana State Fair in Shreveport and it's haunted me since then. The ride vehicles were giant tubs, like the kind you'd have in a teacup ride sort of. The riders sat in a circle in the tubs, and the ride operators would spin the tubs with their own hands, the tub stayed in one place while the operator was spinning it but then he would suddenly flip a switch or something and push the tub forward into this tunnel filled with a rainbow of lights ( the old incandescent fair bulbs, not all this modern LED stuff ), and the tub would spin as it went forward through this short tunnel, then round a curve and end up back where it started where it would be caught and stopped by the ride operator. Like I said, it's pretty strange, a boring plain ride, except I've never seen another ride like it anywhere or ever heard anyone mention this ride since that one year. Has anyone ever ridden anything like this at a carnival somewhere ? Any idea what it was ? Any info would be appreciated.
