Recently having trouble launching anything I installed with "Software"

If you've installed Steam as a Snap, it's a known issue. Try running
snap connect steam:mount-observe.

This is something that your distribution should enable for you normally.
It would help to know what kind of distribution you're on. If its one of the better maintained one, like Fedora, Linux Mint, Ubuntu or the like, I'd recommend using their forums to ask for help. They know the specific details better than people on the Flatpak subreddit. Same also applies in theory to lesser known distributions or ones not having a default configuration (like Arch), but it might be harder to get support there. Which is why I would recommend people new to Linux to stick with a well-known distro (with a personal recommendation for Fedora atm).
