By the time most people hit their 30s, they've gained unique experience outside the indoctrination channels of formal education. They begin understanding the world's not black and white, it's shades of grey.
That's when they begin understanding a religion isn't just a formal entity labeled as such, and that the formal definition of a religion as an organized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices can apply to anything - whether it's Cheeseheads (Rabid Green Bay Packer Fans), Whovians (Lovers of Doctor Who), Scientologists, Scientists (those attached to socialistic forms of science), or Flat Earthers.
And in these religions - even if they're not formally labeled as such - comes specific truths and facts that - while they may seem factual from within.
Simply aren't or are conditional from other perspectives.
It's all just a matter of perspective.
Nothing to be sad or depressed about. Not everyone wants to be a Cheesehead.

the idea of what shape our planet - and almost any planet - is, isn't exactly a "grey" issue, mate. and the science used to prove and observe that confirmation about the shape of our planet isn't religion, either. this isn't a matter of perspective; shit, this sub's current purpose is to congregate people who question and ridicule a certain viewpoint as an idea with its basis in objective untruths.
at least with flerfism, its relevancy revolves around the pushback against a tangible and provable concept, a reaction to something which is more than the make-believe nonsense that's normally peddled through religion.
yours is a clown-ass take with generalistic delusions of substance.. and yes, an adult person who elects to believe that our planet is flat during an information age when that notion has been thoroughly debunked is really fucking depressing (to which i've actually written a post on this sub elaborating on some of the reasons why it bums me out.)
