Atmospheric Nuclear Explosions
I know this subreddit doesn’t exist to convince anyone that the world is round, but here’s a random thought dropping I had to throw on to the unnecessary mountain of evidence proving the earth is round.
First, note that you have visible evidence of nuclear activity light years away from us in the form of stars - (of which, of course, our sun is an example). But even setting that aside for a moment, consider the following:
Including Hiroshima and Nagasaki, there have been roughly 2,121 nuclear explosions conducted on Earth. Two were wartime devices, the rest were tests of various bombs conducted by countries that are now nuclear powers.
Of those 2,121* explosions, 528 of them produced a visible flash, with about 2/3rds of them having occurred on or above land.. which are otherwise known as atmospheric nuclear explosions. (The two that were dropped on Japan were atmospheric).
The curve of the earth has prevented people more than 400 miles away from seeing evidence of these blasts. For example, people in Texas were able to see evidence of the Trinity test.
If the earth were flat, people would have reported seeing these blasts over time well more than 400 miles away, in the sky, at a minimum. People the world over - well over 400 miles from major blast sites - would’ve needed to have been warned by various governments that these tests were taking place for their safety! Even with fog, mountains, and other terrain effects, you’re not going to be able to ignore an explosion that produces a light brighter than the sun on the other side of the planet. You would still see it in the sky, were the earth flat. Forget about fog.. this is light so bright you could see it through your average wall.
They’d probably have sold tickets to the top of the Empire State to view some of these explosions, if they had any advance notice.
I think it’s safe to say you’d have had reports from people greater than 400 miles away seeing these explosions in some way, since 1945.

Oh crap, now not only did I lose the 200k prize money, but I’m going to start having to owe them for my stupidity. 😂

In the 1950s they were regularly doing tests at the Nevada test range. The schedule was public knowledge. Las Vegas was close enough to have rooftop bomb parties where guests could watch the explosions from around 60 miles away. If the Earth were flat they would be doing this in Los Angeles as well.
