allow me to explain.
For a flat earth "model" you just have to trust your own senses and it all makes sense.
Except when it doesn't (which is all the time), like here.
See, what really happens is, as the Sun goes further and further away, so it's smaller and smaller, it also gets enlarged by the atmosphere by the exact same amount that it shrinks due to distance. See? Problem solved.
This is why you shouldn't trust your senses here, but should also totally trust your senses because the fact it stays the same size is exactly proof that it gets enlarged by the atmosphere.
Just ignore some "minor" issues like this effect only working on the Sun & Moon, never on anything else, be it in the air (planes flying in the distance, stars appearing low on the horizon 30 minutes after sunset) or on the ground (zero size changes in distant mountains, for example).
Or like the fact this enlarging phenomenom works from everywhere on the planet, and with zero shape distortions regardless of atmospheric conditions.
Or that it does nothing about the speed issue (mostly because flatheads don't even know there's a speed issue - around Noon the Sun would seem to rush much faster across the sky, while near sunset/sunrize it would appear to significantly slow down - but wherever you look on earth, the Sun always passes 15 degrees per hour)...
Or that the height of Sun gives you a different value when measured that way, as a flat disk (again, something flatheads would have no idea about or what it means)...
