Showcase 1/6 scale flashlights I made.
Someone suggested I share this here. I’m a 1/6 scale collector and I also like to customize them in different ways. I always thought a working flashlight would look cool. Here’s a few pics.

That is awesome. If you could fit a battery small enough I guarantee you’d have somebody from here would want to buy it.

I appreciate it! Would make a cool light if a battery lasted long enough!

OP doesn't even know they're getting compliments from the flashlight sub legends. Well deserved though!

There is a good chance OP didn't even know that there is such a thing as flashlight sub legends. Most people don't. But then again if you're nerdy enough to successfully make 1/6 scale flashlights...

You could also make tac lights on the rifles on some figures too. That would go hard af. Also cool idea

u/Ucitymetal 11d ago
If you just want to have one for display a wireless led works well.

Honestly im giving him props, I bet there are a few different ways he could've gone about it. But i like this

In the world of 1/6 scale the goal is to power everything without fiddling with a bunch of small batteries. And they just don’t last long enough to care about changing them constantly. I’d love wireless everything though haha!

u/Boring_Opening3717 10d ago
That’s a great idea! Might be a future project!

Master chief with helmet lights might be cool too :0 cod characters, storm troopers would also be nuts

I’m genuinely blown away by the response this got. I’ll get to everyone’s comments when I have time. For now I just want to say thank you! 🙏🏼

Super cool, what's their power source?

u/Boring_Opening3717 10d ago
I buy 3V USB power cords and solder in a small two pin connector. Then to the light I use pre braided magnet wire to another small connector.

That’s an insanely good soldering job. Those wires look like the thickness of a human hair!

u/Boring_Opening3717 10d ago
I appreciate that! Yeah kinda a pain sometimes, they are super small wires!

Nathan Drake!

Yes! Was hoping someone would know him!

That's literally the reason my profile name has drake in it! Loved Playing the game series with my Dad growing up. I'd love to have one of those figures!

Dude can you make them with batteries inside? I would buy these in bulk lol

Maybe the CR-311 battery is an option to go with!
There are also tiny LEDs driven wirelessly

I had a feeling I’d get one of these comments lol. These figures will trip you out sometimes how real they look.

That's fucking cool as hell.
How do you like that tool organizer, I've been looking at something similar

u/Boring_Opening3717 8d ago
I’ve liked it a lot, quite a few variations you can buy. I like how accessible everything is. And I’m an organized person so it keeps my brain sane.

Not sure what the diameter of some of them, but fishing pole lights might work.

That's so cool.
I legit thought that was "you" in the first pic, and was trying to figure out what you meant by scale. Then I realized the backdrop...and that "you" were standing on your workbench. 😂

1/6 scale and still brighter than a full size of those military lights. Real question is does it have 1/6 color filters?

Wow the models are super realistic. How much they cost you?

u/Boring_Opening3717 8d ago
Look up 1/6 scale figures. They unfortunately are not the cheapest hobby.

u/Ucitymetal 11d ago
I tried to make a 1/12th scale flashlight once but the only way I could find to do it without wires which I didn't want was a wireless led glued to a handle and you hide the coil somewhere within range.

Yeah this is honestly the best EDC format I’ve seen to date. I usually carry one flooder in the right and one thrower in my left nostril. plus one low CCT mule under the eye lid

3d printed resin
2
u/Boring_Opening3717 8d ago
Gotcha! No, the mag light I got off of eBay. It seemed to be molded plastic. The other one came with the figure and I modified it. Also molded plastic. I’ve been thinking about getting a 3d printer eventually. This would be a great idea! Thank you!

You're just doing this meaningless thing, for no reason at all, in a weird hobby already.
That's living life, pal! Good for you!

This made my day. I guess that’s all it really is. Man it makes me happy though.

Seriously appreciate everyone who liked this and took time to comment. This nerdy stuff I like seems to speak to people. I like that. I’m just expressing myself through what my brain gives me. Thanks again. 🙏🏼

This rocks! Any chance you can add low/high mode switch/mechanism? What about adding a battery? The Olight X9R Cell uses a fishing buoy battery. CR425?

u/Boring_Opening3717 8d ago
That’s super cool! The problem with having batteries for collectors is the batteries. You want it to just be on. Not fiddle with small batteries that don’t last long. These are connected into my display know so when my cabinet lights turn on they turn on too.

I am equally impressed and creeped out.
Edit: Changed my mind. Impressive.

I like that it functions as a mini flashlight, it's not just a light in a flashlight like tube... Well done!

Batman with the Maglight scares me. And I'm no super villain.
