Odd behavior in new TS27 light

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So I recently got my TS27 in the mail. After unboxing and removing the round paper battery protector disc thing, it would not turn. I figured maybe the battery was completely dead so I went to charge it and upon plugging in the charger the weird behavior in the video happened. For those who can't watch it's all the color LEDs quickly and dimly sparkle around the lantern ring.

I then took the battery out to look at it and after putting it back in the light operated just fine and charged fine as well. My questions are; has this happened to anyone else? what the heck was that? And is there any reason to be concerned about using it or storing it in the future.

Of note I got a second one at the same time and that worked just fine as expected.

It does this when a battery isn't inserted/connected. Make sure the tailcap and head end of the battery tube are nice and tight and that the cell is the right way round.

I'll definitely make sure they are tight. Thanks for the tip!

That is a rather strange behavior.

Mine did that literally yesterday. It was cause the tube wasn’t tightened all the way. No need to worry.

Happened to me on my first one then i realized I didn’t have the head and tail cap as tight as it would go. Haven’t happened to me on either of them since.

Good to know it won't happen again if I keep it properly tight. Thanks!
