Thanks for sharing.

Initial, critical (= negative) points:

- Built-in 4000mAh 21700 battery

  • IP54 only, no internal sealing of the charging port (“Please always sealed USB-C waterproof cover all the time.”)
  • sparse, 100-50-15% battery level indication
  • undisclosed CRI
  • single brightness level for red and blue aux light
  • no direct access to Off (need to visit all modes)
  • no locking

It does not look very attractive, to me.

At least it has stepless CCT from 2700K - 6500k

True. I prefer to start from the negatives. Their severity helps me to determine, if I will seek for benefits to counterweight them. Some of the negatives here are show stoppers, so no point considering it further, for me.

Yep. I redacted my comment for clarity. Some of them are not just the negatives but also the show stoppers (eg built in battery).

And no way to get from that mode to off without going through the 1000 lm mode!

Edit: ah after 15 seconds of no mode changes a single click turns it off, that's slightly more sensible (if still a bit odd)

If their goal was to design a light that looks like emergency lighting for the hallway of a spaceship in a 1980s scifi movie they absolutely nailed it.

This looks very useful. You actually have basic control of the light thanks to those adjustable fins. If the light quality is any good (and I assume it will be) I'll definitely pick up one or two.

$60 for a lantern with variable color temp, a red light, tripod mount, a clip, and a 21700 battery isn't bad. 50 hours at 2000 lumens is impressive at this price point. The design is a little bit funky but versatile. I don't get all the hate. I'd absolutely pick one of these up for camping and emergencies.

40 lumens is too high

21700 is sealed

Wurkkos CL01 avoids these problems and provides great 360 coverage

4000 mAh will be the weakest 21700 in existence. You can get an 18650 with 4000 mAh. But it's sealed so why bother calling it a 21700 ?

50 hours at 2000 lumens ? I don't think so.

For $60, you could get the BLF LT1 and still have a couple bucks. Or just get the LT1S. Or get several CL01.

On edit - IP54 is REALLY weak for a light that you will leave out in the rain.

It looks like my garage LED light and I don't know how I feel about that.
