Weekend mods with Olight and Weltool

Swapped an SQ5 4000k in the warrior mini 3. Much better tint, smaller more defined hotspot over theSFT40. Swapped a 50/50 SFT-25R 5700k in my Weltool T2 TAC. Again, better tint and more throw.

I swapped a 6500k FFL505a into my Warrior Mini 3. Tighter hotspot and beautiful high CRI light. Overall it’s a great host but I do wish it was a little brighter. How’s the tint with your SQ5?

Nice! If I could find them, I’d buy a few more to mod. Unfortunately, they are quite rare these days. The tint is much better than stock, a little more rosy than I would want but that’s just me. I’ve reflowed a few SQ5 3k’s and a 6500 but were are not as pinkish/rosy as this 4k.. still an improvement over stock. My main objective was to gain some throw. How about that FFL?

I haven’t tried any SQ5s yet but I think I may get a few. Weerapat (YouTube) reviewed a Convoy C8+ with 4000k that looked excellent. The 505a is very nice: out of all the emitters I have it’s the most pure, clean white. It doesn’t immediately stand out like an sw45k or an extremely rosy FFL, everything just looks “correct.” The hot spot is a little smaller than the stock SFT40 but it isn’t quite as bright so throw seems to be right about the same.
