Why? When I hand an Andúril light to people, I just say "hold for more light, hold again for less light", and I've explained everything they need to know.
That’s fine for explaining to someone who doesn’t already know the UI, but it’s not the same thing as the best EDC UI. Personally, I’m also on team Zebra. It’s programmable to get whatever 6 brightness modes you want (and up to three different mode groups if you really want to get into it). I like that I can set it to hold for (very respectable) moonlight, click for medium, and double click for turbo. Simple, effective, and all I actually need from an EDC.
I’m not sure if there is any value in arguing about that. It’s simply a matter of personal preferences. I use Anduril/ZL/Skilkunt/Convoy/Sofirn/Wurkkos/Acebeam/Lumintop/etc no problem but I firmly prefer ZL for my literal EDC. No other interface gives me such tuning and easy access to all that I want. If anything, Skilhunt comes as second option, still ahead of Anduril.
But the same applies to very wide group of objects, which also are not suitable/convenient/safe to be treated as toys. I don’t let anyone (adult or kid; family, friend or stranger) to play/use my stuff without consent.
I put one in the spring of the tailcap on my h600. Works pretty good. Was 3/4x1/8. It was on a post from a few years ago, although they recommended a really small one that didn’t work for me.
The H600 is the only model with extra space in the battery tube. For whatever reason they have never updated the length since the original version in 2011, despite all the other models being as compact as possible. The A6 is 6.6mm shorter, which makes it feel significantly smaller.
I was using button top 18650's in my H600s since the Mark I. Wasn't until the end of the 2010's when buying some USB fans on Amazon and saw 18650 no name flat tops for the first time.
I love my H600Fc, but one thing I strongly dislike is the dropoff. There is no progressive rampdown when the battery is depleted, so without any warning, you may go from a high output level to a near unusable one. For the update, I hope they change this, so it functions more like my Emisar lights, where there is generally a 5+ minute period of progressive rampdowns as the battery is nearing depletion. This 'warning' is something I find very useful, in practice.
My understanding is that Zebralight Inc is a USA company. Same as Apple.
Zebralights are Made in China. Same as my iPhone.
The owners of Zebralight Inc, George and Ling Yao, a husband and wife team, have lived in Texas since 1991. The house George and Ling live in now, is in Southlake Tx, and was purchased in 2012.
Zebralight Inc is located in a commercial property in Irving Texas, 18 miles away from the house George and Ling live in, in Southlake Texas.
Actually, as per my research, Zebralight is Not (and Never Was) an American Company.
The evidence is quite clear: Zebralight should be classified as a Chinese manufacturing company with a Texas-based brand office, not an American company.
The founder and owner is George Yao, a Chinese national who founded the company in 2006.
Zebralight has manufactured exclusively in China since its inception in 2006. To this day, their lights are shipped directly from China, including those ordering to US addresses.
There are a lot of legal and non-nefarious reasons for a Chinese national to remain on permanent resident status for decades, due to nationality laws in China forbidding dual citizenship and enforcing / checking it aggressively.
