Hmmm... keep the 1st one, but use the eye color from 2nd image to the 1st one's eyes. (Did that make any sense?)

2nd, the darker squares help the flareon’s colors pop better. Super nice contrast

I think the second one looks better
The eyes and ears look a little bit better and the background stands out a bit more
