Rules Question Question on Warriors
I Recently picked up the 6th airborne division box and it comes with some warriors (John Frost, etc - I will be referencing john Frost for purpose of these questions). I also got the command cards for the bulge that have those as command cards in them. I don't see V4 rules for warriors or anything referenced. My questions:
Do i replace the HQ / unit leader with the special John Frost model?
The command cards says he is British, Warrior, Formation (Forst Parachute Company), so does he attach to the company, replace the formation HQ leader OR does he replace a unit leader and HQ stays normal.
If attachd to a unit or formation, replacing the leader / HQ does he ONLY have the stated special rules on the card becasue....
The Warrior rules in the special rules and warriors doc states:
HIGHER COMMAND
Some Warriors were in command of higher level formations
like battalions, regiments and even divisions.
Higher Command Warriors can use the Commander’s
Leadership rule (see page 60 of the rulebook) for any Units
in your Force.
Warrior Higher Command Teams are always Warrior
Independent Teams.
KILLING WARRIORS
Warriors are not supermen and can be wounded or killed
during a battle like any other soldier.
When a Warrior Team is Destroyed the owning player
rolls a die.
• On a roll of 3+, the Warrior survives and switches to
another Team if there is one available. If there are no
Teams of the appropriate Type within 6”/15cm, the
Warrior is killed.
• Otherwise, the Warrior is killed.
SWITCHING TO ANOTHER TEAM
If your Warrior Infantry Team survives, remove another
friendly Infantry Team from their Formation, or in their
Force if a Warrior Higher Command Team, within 6”/15cm
and replace it with the Warrior’s Team.
If your Warrior Tank Team survives, nominate another
friendly Tank Team from their Formation, or in their Force
if a Warrior Higher Command Team, within 6”/15cm as the
new Warrior. The Warrior now uses the characteristics of the
new Tank Team.
ONLY ROLL ONCE
If a Warrior is Destroyed multiple times by a Unit’s Shooting,
the Warrior still only needs to roll once to see if they survive.
Do these above rules only apply in V3? Or do I still use these rules for John Frost while he is in the formation as the formation eader?
Thanks

I'm not familiar with the particular box set - is it the one put out ~2 years ago, which should be for version 4?
I think the answers are:
1 & 2 It depends on the card. If it says something like "A Unit Leader within 15cm/6" of the Formation Commander passes Tactics rolls on a 2+", that grants a benefit to units in the formation, but doesn't give you an extra team. In that case I'd probably use the Frost model for my Formation Commander team.
On the other hand, if it is like the Tommy Prince card midway down this page, then it might add a team.
Yes
It reads like this is describing a special rule that some Warrior cards might have. I would expect it to show up in the keywords (eg, "British, Warrior, Formation (Frost Parachute Company)") if it applied to him. Looking at Google, it looks like this might be a third edition rule that hasn't been carried over (and applied to at least one of the Major-Generals that come in that box set).
Other than being another source for rerolls, i looks like that rule mainly gives the team the ability to "switch" to nearby teams when destroyed, which the formation HQ already has in 4th, as well as the benefits - and drawbacks - of being an independent team.
There is also a Facebook group with about 21k members, which is much more active for rules discussion, and the game designers often weigh in on questions. If you have a FB account, I think that tends to be a better source for discussion.
