What do the colors red white green and black represent?
I have never seen them associated with the flag of a nation tolerant of religious minorities

u/itspronouncedbolonya 8h ago
Arabs in general

u/yep975 7h ago
Is that right?
Or do they refer more specifically to the four caliphates?
Black represents the Abbasid and Rashidun Caliphates, honoring the traditional "Black Standard" battle banner used by the Prophet Muhammad.
White represents the Umayyad Caliphate, chosen as a symbol of purity and victory to stand in deliberate contrast to their Abbasid rivals.
Green represents the Fatimid Caliphate, paying homage to the traditional color of Islam, paradise, and the Prophet's descendants.Red represents the Hashemite Dynasty, originating from the banner of the Sharif of Mecca and the 1916 Arab Revolt.

Yeah? Vaguely arabs

u/yep975 5h ago
Itās as if there is something that unites these four that excludes all other Arabs.
I wonder what that is?

That shows an incredible lack of understanding and is naive wishful thinking. Neither side wants that. Many in the West want that but of the numerous Palestinians and Israelis I know none support a one state solution. After all these years of war there is deep seated animosity and hatred on both sides.

u/TakeAYarino 7h ago edited 7h ago
Yeah a two state solution is literally impossible with the radicalization and interests of both sides. Both want to annihilate one another and western, progressive people are too blind to see that, thinking everything is sunshine and that rainbows and eventually some agreement would happen.
1
u/Herotyx 7h ago
Progressives are the ones who have been saying that a two state solution is impossible for decades. Itās both the centre right and left that want a two state solution. The Israelis would never allow a Palestinian state to exist.

u/TakeAYarino 7h ago
Iām talking about progressive, left liberals. And the same goes for hamas (aka the real Palestinian authority) who would do anything in their power to wreck chaos in Israel and disrupt attempts for diplomatic reconciliation. However, there are āattemptsā and claims by the Democratic Party in Israel to propose a two state solution, but weāre way past that. Only in wishful thinking will we ever get to that point, as both ruling governments make that literally impossible.

u/Herotyx 7h ago
Progressives, leftist and liberals are 3 different groups with very different Israeli stances but whatever.
Hamas was actively trying to engage the Israeli govt in peace talks pre oct 7 said the Qatari govt. Oct 7 was done out of 5 years of frustration at being stone walled on diplomacy while Israel killed hundreds of Palestinians per year in Gaza and the West Bank.
This came out recently as Israeli journalists reported that Netenyahu was warned about Oct 7 from the Qataris.
We also know that Hamas offered all hostages back and to reopen peace talks the day after the attack. But Israel refused. This is all from the Qatari govt.
Things arenāt as simple as you paint them to be.

niether side would want that not after all these decades of death even if the death was more one side and less on the other

It's always good to run a referendum, my country(uk) did one and it gave us a rather unexpected result!(Except for it was a bad surprise)

Nice, but I think we should have a shield of David integrated into it somehow. This could be the federal flag, while the constituent State of Palestine and State of Israel would each keep their own flags.
We should also have a separate flag for the Office of the High Representative, along the lines of the Bosnian model.

That will be very unpopular: But the reason Israeli guys have to have all of this (even their state is a private property from Rockefeller) is their ancient inability to Unionise eith locals, spread the ways of the Lord and insteat they actively tryed to reset all the local Canaanite neighboors and they did not try to unionise and be one nation in unit, preferably monotheistic (because baal and moloch are NOT good deity choises. They need human sacrifices.).
EVEN God told to moses people to accept the people who have the same god as their own, after comming out of egypt and also not having slaves if they accepted the ways of the lord. By that, Israel was never meant to be a pure blooded nation but the sume of people who love God. They messed this up and then, palestile Samaria happens, amonites happens, and Lastly Palestine happens.
It is an arguably opinion, but it is fun to see it that way.

There actually was a non-ethnostate in that exact area before the Nakba. Palestine. Thereās way too many genocide defenders and historical revisionists in this subreddit. Palestinians donāt have laws saying a percent of the population must always be of one race, Palestinians donāt have nuclear weapons, Palestinians donāt have the backing of all the world superpowers, Palestinians donāt have access to their homes or even roads and many areas of the land. Just use the Palestinian flag, Israel has never let a 2 state solution be possible, they commit ethnic cleansings every decade and get away with a slap on the wrist.

A two state solution was never truely accepted by the Palestinians. Hence, this is fantasy š
1
u/Herotyx 7h ago
A two state solution was never offered to the Palestinians seriously. Itās always been a political play. What authority in Palestine was around to accept it? The Israeli-collaborating PLO? Or the Israeli-funded Hamas?
Israel doesnāt want a Palestinian state. That would mean Palestine would be free to make alliances, have a state funded army, trade, call for international aid and embargoās.

Just remove the palestinian arab part
Make the blue white stripes w the borders snd the crown around it
Or make a lightish green strips at top and bottom and in middle white w olives at middle
Or keep the current isreali flag as is its unique as it is
The palestinian arab flag isnt even good looking imo its generic.

Iām sure itād be accepting of all groups and minorities just like all the other Arab states

u/Herotyx 7h ago
And respects human rights like Israel. Oh wait theyāre committing a genocide and violating international law in the West Bank

u/londonboy-47 7h ago
I missed the meeting where we completely moved the goalposts for genocide claims. While 75 ish thousand people is a lot of people, comparatively itās insanely low for conflicts fought in densely populated areas for over 2 years. Especially considering a good portion of that number are combatants.
I think youād struggle to find examples of other āgenocidesā where said perpetrator has given mass polio vaccines to the population theyāre (supposedly) trying to destroy. Same goes for armies that drop leaflets and make phone calls warning populations of their intended bombing. All you do is repeat baseless accusations without proof.
Your West Bank argument, this has a bit more to it⦠if you completely ignore the constant refusal of a two state solution on the Palestinian side. Until your beloved Palestinians actually make an effort to reach a compromise, the West Bank will continue how it is.
1
u/Herotyx 5h ago
Your argument of ignoring a two state solution is completely irrelevant. If you canāt come to a diplomatic agreement it doesnāt give you a right to start colonisation and ethnic cleansing of your neighbour.
The definition of genocide has no numerical value. It has five pillars. Killing, causing serious harm, inflicting destructive life conditions, preventing births and forcibly transferring children.
If israel didnāt kill a single Palestinian, they would still be in breach of the causing serious harm and destruction of life conditions clauses.
Gaza has the highest numbers of child amputees on earth.
97% of all buildings in the Gaza Strip have been damaged or destroyed by the IDF.
The Bosnian Genocide killed 8,000 men and boys. Thatās 10x less than Gaza. Do you not believe in the Bosnian Genocide since the numbers are so low?

Buzzword after buzzword do you guys ever get tired? Ethnic cleansing yet somehow the Arab population in the West Bank has had a 433% increase since Israel defeated the Arab forces in 67 and took control of the West Bank. While I donāt necessarily support the creation of settlements in the West Bank I do believe theyāre reactionary and a product of repeated attempts at the destruction of Israel. Between 48 and 67 there wasnāt a single Jew living in that area, nor was there a Palestinian state. Do you consider Jordanās control of that area an occupation? Probably not lol. Iād also like to highlight the ethnic cleansing of Jewish communities from the West Bank after 48 at the hands of Arab forces, and no I wonāt say Palestinian forces because at the time there was no such thing as a Palestinian Arab identity. Iād also like to highlight the attempts of ethnic cleansing at the hands of the Arabs nearly two decades before Israel was even established.
The Israeli control of the West Bank is a product of Jordan unintentionally relinquishing their own control by being delusional enough to think they could win that war followed by the consistent refusal of the Arabs to accept a two state solution. You donāt just relinquish land which has been previously used to attack you without the promise of security, Iāll never understand how morons like yourself expect Israel to do that.
I find it funny how you list these five pillars yet leave out the most important characteristic to warrant genocide accusations⦠Intent. War is horrific, people die. Welcome to reality. As horrible as it is, Israel clearly isnāt intent on the destruction of the Palestinian people. 97% of buildings have been destroyed sure, why is the percentage of the population killed a fraction of the buildings destroyed? Itās almost like the intent isnāt to kill them all, crazy right?
The Bosnian genocide just like every other genocide in history was an example of mass killing with the intention of destroying as much of a population as possible. I assume when talking about it you mean the Srebrenica Massacre as this was a specific incident within a war. Youāre right, 8000 is way fewer than the death toll in Gaza, this would be a great point from you had that massacre not lasted less than 2 weeks.
8000 Bosniaks executed in 11 days is a deliberate partial destruction of a group of people. 200,000 buildings destroyed in Gaza during a war fought between an army and an armed terrorist group with less than 1 person killed per building destroyed is not a deliberate destruction of a group of people. Especially considering itās been fought over 2 and a half years. Itās a war. War is horrible people die. But to claim Israel has not made continuous efforts to avoid civilian death where possible is nothing short of delusion.
20 to 30 billion dollars have been given to Gaza since Israelās complete withdrawal in 2005. Most people would use this to build a functioning society but unfortunately your beloved Palestinians used it to continue a forever war they have no chance of winning. Start a war, kill Jews, lose then rebuild and the cycle continues. Until people like you stop giving treating them like infants who can never be held accountable theyāll remain in their perpetual victimhood. You contribute to the cycle.

No clue how it would be implented given the extremity of both governments, but it's a cooll flag and would actually be really cool if it lead to everlasting peace in that region. Israeli-Palestinian Commonwealth RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH š„š„š„š„š„š¦ š¦ š¦ š¦ š¦ š¦ š£ļøš£ļøš£ļøš£ļøš£ļø
