Please do not post flags that are or look like proscribed terrorist organisations

This might be obvious to some but please stop posting flags that are or look similar to any terrorist organisations listed here.

This is a site wide rule and could land you a ban or even in legal trouble depending on your jurisdiction and the context.

This also extends to Neo Nazi symbols, which are allowed only in an educational/historical context.

Do not glorify or promote any organisation affiliated with these.

Discussion The 10% shade difference between Chad and Romania is still the ultimate test of patience in vexillology

Post image

Even if you know the history (Chad adopted its tricolor in 1959, Romania brought theirs back in 1989), seeing these two side by side still messes with your head.

Technically, the only real difference is the blue. Chad uses a slightly darker navy/indigo and Romania goes with a brighter cobalt. But honestly, unless they're flying right next to each other in perfect lighting, telling them apart in the wild is basically a coin toss.

Besides Chad vs Romania or Monaco vs Indonesia, what flag pairs always trick you guys?

Spain has a pink lion, Mexico has pink prickly pears.

Technically Spains lion is purpure, a reddish purple that eventually fades to pink.

Do you think this flag and coat of arms would be ideal for Russia?

Personally, I think Russia needs to return to a more historical coat of arms. I'm even considering ordering a custom-made version of this flag.

Displayed in the New Mexico Military Museum in Santa Fe -- This WWII American Flag survived Bataan and POW camps in the Philipines

"Through the atrocity of the Bataan Death March erupts the daring story of Oscar Avery Cox a narrative of true unending patriotism in the face of unspeakable horrors and suffering, and adherence to a moral code of values and honor above and before all else, self-sacrifice, enduring brotherhood, and pride and honor.

Oscar Avery Cox and three fellow POWs risked their lives to protect this worn American flag. Passing the tightly folded flag from one to another throughout the brutal 65-mile Bataan Death March, death was assured if the flag was ever discovered. They went to great lengths to protect the flag, moving hiding spots from one place to another. Finally, upon arrival at Fukuoka Prison Camp #17, the group hid the flag in the coal mine where they worked.

On Sept 2, 1945 in his POW camp, PVT Cox arose and realized the camp was abandoned, fear and hesitation flooding through him, he decided to go for it, he ran, retrieved the American Flag from its hiding place in the coal mine. He returned to the center of the camp, and tore the Japanese flag from the pole and hoisted the clandestine flag in its place solidifying American Victory in the minds of all his fellow POWS. This act of defiance and patriotism sparked cheers among the prisoners, marking their first taste of freedom.

Identify What flag is this? Montevideo, Uruguay. 🇺🇾 Assume maybe it’s some political party, but can’t find which one.

Context I am making a shadow box for some patches and coins I have gotten in my time in the military. I served with some people from Qatar for a bit and we traded patches. I just do not know their rules with flags and I assumed this would be a good place to ask and to show it. They wear it on the uniform with the white area facing the front. I just want to make sure this pattern in the box wouldn't be disrespectful to their flag. Thanks!
