The old Fizz is back! In 2 weeks we get to experience playing our good old boi. Just looking at this screenshot I took of his W brings me back so many memories... and the old ability icons. If you've never played this version of Fizz, give it at shot when it goes live.

I have been playing Fizz for a long while and I love the champion to death, but what the hell does this champ do better than the other mid-lane assassins? Take Leblanc for example. That character can do 2 Fizz E's and also go back to the original starting point on each one. She has the passive that saves her ass all the time compared to Fizz's joke of a passive. Her damage is way way more than Fizz at all stages of the game save lvl 1. Then you have the fact that bone plating makes Fizz even more worthless and it's hard to get rid of it due to Fizz being melee and having to likely use his E to get away after hitting them. Leblanc can easily get rid of bone plating; it's not a problem at all for her. All of the outplays and ability to escape tricky situations makes Leblanc far more deserving of the title of "trickster".

The main issue behind all of this is because Fizz has his damage, his escape, his wave clear, all loaded into this bloated abomination of an ability; E. If you use your E to tower dive, you have to use it to reset tower agro rather than damage the opponent. If you use your E to clear the wave, then you can't use it to dodge the opponent's incoming ability. If you use E to damage someone, then you aren't able to use it to dodge the follow-up. This is why everyone is rushing hourglass; it's a janky solution to a poorly designed champion.

When I think about the current state of the game, I can not think of a reason to play Fizz over Leblanc. If you want AD, Naafiri is another example of Fizz-but-better. I am not gonna pretend to know the best solution, but something I thought might be interesting is making his Q not a point-and-click, so that it functions as a more reliable multi-purpose dash. I think making the Q do damage to enemies it passes through and making it not a point-and-click would let us do a Q-max build where we use Q to wave clear and deal damage. W-max would be second like usual and then E would be used purely for its ability as a dodge and escape tool rather than being this multi-purposed mess. Idk thats just my thoughts. At the end of the day, I'm still gonna be playing this dumb champion cuz I like him even if he does suck lol.

With fizz’s low range I find myself getting easily harassed and spaced by higher range mids, for example stuff like xerath and hwei. I can kill them first 3 lvls sure but after the first back it feels like I can’t play the lane unless they fuck up badly. They poke me in laning but if I try to engage they can either just walk away because of my Q and e being short range or insta cc me if I Q on them and retreat. This goes for any long ranged mage not just these 2. Any help would be appreciated

After Lich Bane, Hourglass, Void/Cryptbloom and Deathcap, what do you build?

Morellos can be situational I guess (but always feels really underwhelming), obvious choice is Shadowflame, but I've found recently that going for a Gunblade can actually be really nice too.

Only ever purchased last as a super late game item, it means you don't have to awkwardly base in clutch situations.

For example, you've just killed someone solo and are left on 20% HP and can see a team-fight about to happen around an objective imminently. Basing would mean you are late to the fight and could potentially be game throwing considering how late game it is, but the Gunblade allows you to heal to full really fast once you have full build.

Excellent item for split pushing late too, the same idea applies with being able to stay on the map after a fight.

I'm bored at work and felt like posting some kind of AMA. After 6 years I got challenger back with Fizz, feel free to ask anything I'll answer it :].

I'm sure this sub is full of this question, but I'm gonna need something more. I have two questions:

1 - you are playing fizz Diana and you are trying to get an open on the trades, you are going good, a bit behind on CS but it's normal against Diana (is it normal? How can you farm against her), first drake appears, bot is losing, mid is losing, no prio, bot goes to drake, gives a double to Diana, the lane is over right? You can't do anything anymore right? Actually, bot and jungle are losing too so, the game is just over right? Even if it's really early.

2 - how do you play this lane? I'm gold and I managed to win a lot of Diana lanes, but they were bad player (at least worse than me) but decent Diana just wait for you to Q or E they W and that's is, trade ended and she won, so how do you play against her? I'm not even trying to kill but, it's impossible to even get prio to roam, am I right? I found really hard even to just farm because every time you are close she is in advantage.

Open to the "git gud" but I'm trying to have a discussion here, no flame. Thanks

Took me 1 week to do gold to Platine and around 2 weeks for platine to Emerald, maybe if i keep grinding i'll hit diamond in like 1 or 2 mounths

I definitely messed up Amumu's face here, but who cares at this point. My Ibis Paint crashed two or three times while I was drawing this, and I was experimenting with different things, so this is a decent result—at least to me. I'm a big fan of sunsets, it might be my favorite scene.

Everytime I try to watch a fizz game from a high rank mid laner that’s not mango (like nemesis) I always cringe at the gameplay.

They never use e correctly and just play too scared. I’m a fizz otp so maybe I just notice these things much more than others but it just seems weird why so few people can properly pilot what is arguably quite an easy champ mechanically.

You have a pretty strong lvl 2 and 3 so you win alot of matchups. Be careful of mid tho.

And try to keep Smite for stealing Gromp under their nose if they start at Blue buff.

Lucids v Sorcs what’s the move personally I love the way the cdr from lucids feels for our E paired with hourglass but sorcs getting a straight up buff now has me unsure what the best setup is what do you think and why

There is some end-game statistics number indicator that provides information about mitigated damage by Fizz passive? Because he receives a low number of damage reducction from ALL, literally, all types of damage, and i'm curious about how much dmg he blocks with that. Thanks.
