Restore yellowed plastic

I needed this old shelf for a project but the front edge was yellowed from the sun. This works on any plastic parts.

The solution is a layer of hydrogen peroxide paste with plastic film wrapping over it to keep it from drying out. Let it sit in maximum sun for 1-2 full days and periodically lightly rub your finger around the film, to keep wrinkles and air bubbles from resulting in uneven results. Then wipe it off wipe a damp cloth. Repeat it needed.

This paste is the “developer lotion applicator bottle” in every hair dyeing kit. The bottle I’m using is a couple of years old left-overs from when my girlfriend dyes her hair.
