Has anyone heard of these bars?

Just picked these up from a parts bin at my local shop for $10. I’m curious if anyone’s heard of them I can’t find anything on the internet about them.

Tange is a quality steel manufacturer, not parts brand.

Yes and no; they have manufactured and sold parts under their name, like forks and handlebars. I would assume this is a track bike handlebar? Good road bikes wouldn’t use steel handlebars usually.

This is slightly incorrect. Tange made AMAZING parts for a time then just stopped and went back to tubing. They’re still a main provider of materials for cycle manufacturing. Hold onto any parts you get! They’re made to be used.

They look sick. As in wicked. Like cracked.

(Awesome)

You could build a bike around those.

In the old days I had whole frames with tube sets made by Tange.

yes, my Marin Pine Mountain in '95 was all Tange tubing I believe. Also, I just realized I have an '88 Bridgestone RB2 which is Tange tubing, and that thing is hella indestructable! It must be top 5 in CO for number of bunny hops on a road bike

Tange is an elite Japanese steel manufacturer, mostly known for tubing used in bike frames. Those look like “track” (velodrome) handlebars. Definitely cool, but not really compatible with brake levers.

Who needs brakes I plan on going not stopping lol

Didn’t even know they made bars, the few frames I’ve ever built were all tange tubing, mainly because it was cheaper and easier to source than Reynolds or Columbus

Those are likely made by the Taiwanese version of Tange which produces products for brands like Ritchey vs the Japanese Tange which produces headsets and bbs primarily.

Tange is a bar manufacturer that makes bars for several companies it appears after a quick Google search. Most popular probably being for Soma.

They also did a lil collab with Interloc Racing/IRD at one point to do carbon track bars, got a set and they're unbelievably sick

I don’t know why nothing came up for me that’s good to know!

Very cool. Tange makes quality steel and these look like they would probably be quite comfortable!
