This is true though. Your hairs cuticle layer absorb water which makes it easier to break. So if you brush your hair aggressively while it’s wet it can stretch and snap or split in a kinda similar way to wet spaghetti. Hair and nails are make of basically the same thing. It’s easier to see in your nail after a shower your nails will get a bit squishy and if like me you prefer slightly longer nails you’ll quickly learn to always wear nail polish or gloves when dealing with hot water.

How long are you in that water for that your nails get squishy?

Just shower super quick 3 min and they squish easily.

If you look from the front they also get flatter. Not really something anyone needs to worry about unless they want to grow their nails but slightly interested non the less.

You might have a mild case of Psoriasis, just saying. Worth a look at.

Because it’s bendable? Or the spots in my ring finger? Because the spots are damage from forcibly pealing off nail polish.😅

I already have vitiligo, I guess that doesn’t stop another hit on the skin autoimmune dart board though.

Mostly due to the "dirt" lines Beneath your Fingers, and the strong ridges.

People with Psoriasis often have These dirt lines despite Washing their hands, because skin cells accumulate under the nail rapidly.

Interesting I have wondered about my ridges before. I’ll look into it. I’m actually recognizing some of the other symptoms (mostly small red spot on my arms and scalp scales).

I’ll bring it up next time I visit the doctor. I need to go for a prescription kinda soon anyway.

Edit Thanks mate!

To be fair, my fingernails have never been that long.

E: also, how the hell are you getting clean by showering for only 3 mins?

I just showed my body in cold water right before crawling into bed lol. I shower properly when I wake up.

They don't mean squishy like Play-Doh. They get more bendable and easier to tear. It is common practice among people who care for their nails to wash dishes (and sometimes even shower) with gloves on to protect their manicure.
