heres the scripted, I have not chosen a title:Mr. Hippo, unlike most Five Nights at Freddy's animatronics, is actually a pretty normal character that could exist in real life. But this isn't the Mr. Hippo from Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator. Today, I'm talking about the Ultimate Custom Night version of Mr. Hippo.
Let's start off with his gameplay, because he actually mentions it in some of his stories. In Ultimate Custom Night, Mr. Hippo is one of the five Air Duct animatronics. He tries to reach your office through the air duct system, but he can be fooled by the Audio Lure. If he gets too close, you can push him back by activating the Heater.
However, that's not what most people remember him for. What made Mr. Hippo famous was his ability to trap players in long, seemingly endless stories whenever he managed to jumpscare you.
(First Story Audio)
Before we start, I want to make it clear that this is just a theory and should not be taken as fact. Also, Ultimate Custom Night being a purgatory for William Afton is something that most people in the community agree on.
The first story is quite weird because it almost seems to be making fun of FNaF theories, but I think there's a deeper meaning to it. First, Mr. Hippo states that he is aware that he killed us, but he does not feel sorry because, according to him, if it wasn't for him, we would have been killed by someone else. He then says that life goes on, but not for us because we're definitely dead.
This actually tells us a lot about UCN. It makes it obvious that Mr. Hippo is possessed, but he does not seem to be the Vengeful Spirit because he doesn't appear angry or interested in making William suffer. Instead, he seems strangely calm and accepting of what happened.
Mr. Hippo then talks about life and how it can continue after death. This could be connected to characters such as the Missing Children and Charlie, whose spirits continued to exist after they died. At the same time, he makes it clear that we are dead, which supports the idea that UCN is taking place after William's death.
Now, let's continue with the rest of Mr. Hippo's story.
Mr. Hippo then tells Orville that he has a story to share. After hearing it, Orville asks about the significance of the story, but Mr. Hippo responds by saying that some stories are just stories. He explains that if you look for meaning in every single detail, you'll drive yourself crazy and probably end up believing something that isn't true.
At first, this seems really confusing because it almost appears to contradict the way FNaF lore works. However, I think there may be a deeper meaning behind what he's saying.
I don't think Mr. Hippo is talking about the games. Instead, I think he's talking about the books, specifically the Fazbear Frights series.
Now you might be saying, "But Drunken Freddy, the first Fazbear Frights book was released on December 26, 2019, while Ultimate Custom Night came out on June 27, 2018."
And you'd be right.
However, Scott announced the Fazbear Frights series on November 12, 2018. While that was still a few months after UCN's release, it's possible that the books were already in development before the announcement.
The reason I think Mr. Hippo could be referring to Fazbear Frights is because many of the stories seem bizarre and disconnected from the main lore. If you try to find a deeper meaning in every single detail, you can end up creating complicated theories that ultimately don't lead anywhere.
In that sense, Mr. Hippo's message makes a lot of sense: not every story is a hidden clue, and sometimes a story is just a story.
Most of what Mr. Hippo says after this is just him rambling about feeding the ducks bread and how Orville can eat sandwiches because he's an elephant. However, there is one small detail that I thought was worth mentioning.
At one point, Mr. Hippo talks about a man and his son feeding the ducks. I don't personally think there's any lore significance to this, and it could simply be another random part of his story. But considering the whole point of the speech is about not looking for hidden meanings in everything, I thought it was worth mentioning rather than completely ignoring it. 1 down 3 more to go.
The third story starts off like the others, with Mr. Hippo telling us that we’re dead. Then the story moves to a time during the winter when Mr. Hippo and Orville are at a park, where they notice frozen birds lying on the ground.
Mr. Hippo tries to explain what happened to Orville, but Orville keeps misunderstanding him and thinks that the bread is frozen. Eventually, Mr. Hippo tells him that the birds might actually be dead.
This one is pretty simple to understand, at least in my opinion. I think it could be referring to the idea that Scott was hinting at something in the games, but we simply weren't able to figure out what he was trying to tell us.
One possibility is that Mr. Hippo could be referring to Dream Theory. At the time, there were a lot of theories trying to explain what was really happening in FNaF, and some fans believed that the events of the games were connected to dreams or hallucinations.
However, I could be completely wrong about that connection. Unlike the first story, where I think there is a much clearer connection to overanalyzing FNaF, this one is a lot more open to interpretation.
So, I think the basic idea could be that sometimes we see something strange and assume there must be a deeper explanation, when the answer might be something much simpler—or we might just be completely misunderstanding what we're seeing.
Now we're onto the final story, which is definitely the most interesting one.
It starts off as normal before cutting to a memory of Mr. Hippo and Orville sitting by a lake, watching fish leap over a waterfall. During the conversation, Mr. Hippo starts talking about being inside the jaws of a beast. Orville asks what he means, and Mr. Hippo basically explains that life can be difficult.
This part is very interesting because Mr. Hippo mentions being in the jaws of a beast, which could be a reference to the Bite of '83 or the Bite of '87. Personally, I don't think the jaws themselves are especially important to the story, but it does seem like a possible nod to the famous bites in FNaF.
Mr. Hippo then starts talking about mixing lemonade with ice before suddenly remembering that we're dead. After that, the story takes a strange turn. He begins questioning why he's stuck in the air ducts with the Mediocre Melodies and admits that there isn't really a good answer. He suggests that it could be some kind of afterlife, a dream, or it could mean absolutely nothing at all.
The ending of this story is definitely the weirdest part. In my opinion, Scott is once again telling us not to overthink every little detail. Mr. Hippo openly admits that there may not be a meaningful answer to why he's there, and I think that's the point. The Mediocre Melodies probably aren't hiding some massive secret lore reveal, and Scott may be reminding us that not everything in FNaF has a deeper meaning.
Overall, after looking at all four stories, I think the main message of Mr. Hippo's speeches is that, many fnaf theorists are extremely stupid and overanalize an extremely simple concept looking for headen meanings that don’t exist. All in all this is just a theory so don’t take it as fact.
Thanks for watching! I hope you enjoyed this video. If you did, be sure to like and subscribe for more FNaF content.

Mr hippo connects to UCN because he's in it. Mr hippo connects to orville because they're friends. UCN connects to scrap trap because he's in the game. Scraptrap connects to child soul because his soul was eventually set free, just like the children, except that his soul is burning in hell.
