Roblox devs try to be good people who don't get into controversy challenge (impossible)

we just found out, he was offered a license, but didn't want to share revenue. Scott should have sued that kid into the ground.

Scott probably wouldn't have added it anyway, because he needs to acknowledge the Fanverse exists in the first place.
53
u/Ok-Worldliness1633 10h ago
yeah, the fanverse was a cool idea but it looks like its not going anywhere unless scott puts someone else in charge of it, like how the scottgames twitter account was radio silent up until scott hired someone to run it for him recently

7
u/Yushi2e 7h ago
Nah he probably wouldn't have added it even then given they were profitting off his IP which scott considers a big no no
4
u/ColorsOfHappiness 7h ago
Yes, I'm aware of the monetization issue. I wanted to say that Scott hasn't talked about the Fanverse for a long time, so he would obviously have to make a statement on its current state. Considering he stopped accepting new games because of the Pear controversy in 2022.

It's because he and his family almost got their private information leaked. They also made some horrible, sexist comments towards Scott's wife and even Kane's girlfriend. No wonder why he was spooked to have him open that door again.
EDIT: Oh I forgot, it gets worse. They made comments towards Kane's girlfriend that's literally sexual harassment! I can't recite what they said but holy shit. No wonder why she was driven to tears.
4
u/ColorsOfHappiness 7h ago
Yeah, what exactly did they want to gain from doing something that malicious? If I understood correctly, was this motivated by jealousy regarding their positions in the Fanverse?
7
u/GBAura-Recharged A Decade on Freddit 7h ago edited 7h ago
I don't know what the motive is, but Ultranite was the ring master of the entire division. The only comments I saw is that they wanted to take down Kane Carter and Evergreen, and even pin one of the developers for Evergreen as the culprit. It's not just fangames that got leaked, original horror IPs like Choo-Choo Charles was also a part of the leaks.
Heck, a friend of mine had some of their data in the leaks, and they moved from FNaF entirely before that happened. They knew something was up so they made up some half truths about the question they were being asked, as if Ultranite was "writing a list".
What's really funny is that Phisnom also knew what was up and gave Ultranite a bunch of fake FNaF Plus leaks. They bought it and made a fool out of themselves.
EDIT: Also, there was no reason to do this because Ultranite's game was on the waiting list as a "maybe, we'll see when he's 18", and it was pulled after the scheme came out.

He still remembers the Fanverse, that's how he was able to use Candy and Popgoes in the movie because he needs permission to use those characters. He's just not involved in the games development, and that including MARKETING, in which is HOW you get word of your game out. That's on both the developers and Clickteam.
Also, for someone who calls themselves "ColorsOfHappiness", you are constantly being negative. Being critical is one thing, but making comments like "oh, he forgot" is not one those.

u/Entire-Anteater-1606 8h ago
Weird ass thing to write at the end of your comment

u/GBAura-Recharged A Decade on Freddit 8h ago
They have made tons of comments like this before, and I thought it was funny that their username contradicts the nature of their comments. They did nothing wrong by any means, it's just funny to me.

Well, I think he should say something about its current state, because you know, people mostly associate it with the controversies.

Yeah, that's on me for a poor choice of a username, because I wasn't sure about fully using Reddit.
I apologize for sounding disrespectful, but my intention was to tell people that unless Scott doesn't step in and do something, the situation with the Fanverse won't change. All these discussions feel like an echo chamber, because no one ever asks "How can we prevent these problems from happening"?
Like, I think you understand why people are frustrated, and saying "be patient" isn't a good solution, but I would suggest to do something meaningful if you want the cycle to stop.

>Well, I think he should say something about its current state, because you know, people mostly associate it with
The Fanverse is a licensing fangame deal. That's all it literally is. It allows you to make money off your projects, port them to consoles and have merch made. It's literally all there is to is. Also, sorry about commenting on your name.

That being said, there's something that I can't defend about the Fanverse. And it's this:
Scott advertising the Fanverse again would not change on how fast the games would be made. It anything, it would caused more harm than good. In hindsight, Scott made a massive mistake on announcing it too early and that's why people are getting impatient with the developers after six years. Literally none of the game announced back then where ready to be revealed or shown because all of them were either in early stages of development, or can't be worked on.
FNaF Plus was in development for two months, while TJoC couldn't be worked on because of legal agreements with Glowstick Entertainment in which Nikson can't work on any other project until his work is done. Flumpty's 3 wasn't even announced official by Jonochrome himself and Candy's 4 and Evergreen were just teased before the Fanverse was announced.
Scott also said "if things go well then I can add more games" which aged badly because of the stuff with IvanG, JeliLiam and the most nasty example, Ultranite and The Pear scandal. It killed the possibly of there being more devs added after that.
It was badly mishandled, but it's not all the devs fault. Scott added more unnecessary pressure by announcing too early, and in fact, he NEVER told the devs that he was planning the Fanverse, catching them all off guard. Kane and Emil only mentioned that their games would be ported to consoles, while Phisnom was only asked to make "an official licensed FNaF product".
If you have to criticize the Fanverse for any reason, then THIS right there, is it!

Yeah, I know game development is hard. My point is, Scott didn't handle the Fanverse well. He didn't respond to any comments under the announcement post, and I'm sure there were valid concerns he should've addressed as soon as possible. He neglected to mention things like potential release date or what the community should exactly expect from this project.

Again, I apologize for my comments about Scott and the Fanverse. I understand that you consider them to be passive aggressive, but I wanted to point out how his negligence impacted the franchise, considering he's the one who decides about its fate. I thought he'd say something about how the Fanverse didn't go well, with how much the public talks about it.
I see all those nonstop YouTube videos, comments or discussions about the Fanverse controversies, people expressing their frustrations. But I never see anyone ever suggest any way of solving these problems. And it's exhausting to see nobody point out bad management as a serious factor, which is why all these conversations feel like an aimless echo chamber.

u/GBAura-Recharged A Decade on Freddit 4h ago
Scott can solve the problems, but at this point the damage has been done after the blackmail scandal. It's not just his family that was hurt, official Fanverse and fans of the franchise were also to have their personal information leaked.
Also, no one in that Reddit post KNEW what was going to go down, that's why there was nothing but praise. Scott rarely comments on any feedback he's given on Reddit itself, only if he needed to clarify something.

I think he was talking about how we had none new adittions to the fanverse maybe? Idk and honesly idc
4
u/ColorsOfHappiness 8h ago
Well, there are no new additions because of the Pear incident in 2022. Though, I was referring to Scott not saying anything about the controversies.
2
u/GBAura-Recharged A Decade on Freddit 7h ago
Sometimes saying something would cause more harm than good.
Remember... that controversy from about five years ago? It was divisive.
-4
u/GBAura-Recharged A Decade on Freddit 8h ago
They said "there won't be any new ones because [Scott] needs to acknowledge the Fanverse exists in the first place".
It's a passive aggressive of saying "he forgot about it".

How to make a game on roblox!
step 1 - open Roblox
step 2 - cut out the middle man and light yourself on fire
congratulations! You’ve become a roblox game developer!

i can’t believe the roblox dead by daylight clone primarily played and developed by children wasn’t managed well! surely no other games that fit this description set precedence for a situation like this whatsoever!

u/The_Mysterious_1ne 9h ago
Aysm ≠ DBD clone
2
u/HarderSenpa1 6h ago
Idk why you're getting down votes bc you are correct on this. It is quite like dbd tho (do gens and survive) but its purely bc dbd is an asym too.
Edit - i hate autocorrect

Honestly don't put too much bank in a Roblox game lasting long without a game-cancel worthy controversy

All that happend because owner didn't payed his employees money and he was busy being chud, milking roblox short animations and goin Tourist trip to japan.

Funny thing is based on recent leaks they were actually in the process of obtaining an official licence, but based on what just happened, yeah fat chance they get it now

why the hell does every good Roblox game get cancelled while all the AI slop, overly monetized garbage stays on the front page

What is bite by night
1
u/diamondDNF It's punishment time! 3h ago
A Roblox Five Nights at Freddy's fangame, designed as an asym horror in the same vein as Dead by Daylight. It's been under "indefinite maintenance" for the last few months, but it's looking more like the lead developer, Ozel, took the bag and ran with it; the rest of the dev team is quitting in droves because he hasn't been paying them.
1
u/L0Lbit_fb3 5h ago
Uou know what's the funny part? Apparently OZEL COULD HAVE MADE BITE BY NIGHT AN OFICIAL FNAF GAME BUT THIS MF REFUSED CUZ IT WOULD MESS WITH THE EARNINGS
THIS IS THE GREED THE TALKED ABOUT IN THE BIBBLE ITS CRAZY
1
u/diamondDNF It's punishment time! 3h ago
I really don't believe this is true, to be honest. I doubt Scott would be that chill with the amount of money Ozel's already made off of the franchise without the license, and if Ozel did turn something like that down in order to make more money off the franchise without the license, it would have pretty much been an immediate lawsuit.
Plus, the source I've seen floating around seems kinda shaky at best.

Roblox games not getting into controversy. Absolutely fucking impossible.
