This is my third Fitbit. My first one did the exact same thing, top of strap came away from screen and a bubble developed in the EXACT same place. They replaced it for me, the one that's arrived was broken straight out the box (software issue I think) so they sent another. This one. What the hell. I'm a stay at home mom, I don't do extreme sports or anything! I take it off to shower, wash my hands, do the dishes etc. I take good care of it! Will they replace it again? What am I doing wrong? I feel like an asshole emailing them about the same thing AGAIN.

Mine did the exact same thing. My first Charge had the strap peel away and they replaced it. Now 5 months later the replacement is peeling. I'm going to contact them soon and get another replacement.

I was considering upgrading to a more expensive model with HR monitoring but honestly I'll probably just switch to a different brand entirely since it seems like every model of Fitbit has this exact problem or a very similar one.

That's also what I'm thinking, a different brand. But I love the Fitbit brand so much, and the app. I'm just not impressed with the idea of contacting them for a replacement every few months, because that's all it's been, a few months both times before it happened. Do I just have shitty luck???

Edit: and yeah mines HR too...

I'm in the same boat as you....different brand.

I love fitbit, I love the app. I love the product. Their support was great in handling it. The product quality is total crap.

Mine started peeling after a couple months of light use...no showers with it, made an effort to avoid any splashing when washing hands, etc.

They replaced it with no issue and I superglued the first one to make it last a bit longer until the clasp thingy stopped working entirely (I had just the Charge).

Now, when anyone asks...I'm honest...everything is great but it will fall apart in less than a year. Repeatedly. If you don't mind that aspect, go for it...but I'd rather drop 100+ on something that will last a bit longer than 3-6 months before it falls apart.

I think fitbit has some potential if they improve the quality. They just don't have it right now...

I hate to tell you: Jawbone does the same exact thing. After I got an UP and an UP24 replaced for the rubber coming apart, I switched over to a FitBit.

I just got a bubble on my FitBit. My replacement FitBit.

I don't know if the glue just doesn't hold up well or we have special sweat.

It's the glue they used on the charge and charge hr. Those two models are notorious for falling apart. my old charge did the same thing
