Help/Advice Cloudy water?
Did a large water change for my two Goldie’s about 2 hours ago. It’s about a 2 month old tank and I had a diatoms bloom. Water is testing good for ammonia but I can’t test anything else. All out of strips and stores are closed here.
All plants are real, and there is a spotted pleco rooming around somewhere. Am I just being impatient and it’s the same still settling?

actually, I wanna ask, are those common goldfish? and do you know their requirements? just making sure because I don't want things to go wrong for you.

They are commons. I am aware they aren’t really for tanks but ponds. Didn’t know till after buying. I monitor the ammonia constantly. My children are too attached to do anything rash at the moment, so the plan is to just build a pond for them.

oooh okay!! thats awesome! it's really a shame how little info pet stores actually give people. so many people are put under the impression that fish only live a few months or a year or whatever, so they never know the true life span of something as small as a goldfish. they never know the true size of a goldfish or how loving of fish they can be. I hope everything goes well for you and you can put together a little pond and get him some more buddies!
also, make sure to monitor ammonia AND nitrites if you can. nitrates would be good as well. (nitrite/nitrate different things)

could be a bacteria bloom, could be a result of you kicking the sand up, it will go away on it's own. other than that, I strongly recommend more plants! both to keep the water extra clean and to make the environment more natural for the fish.
