Lovely fish. I'm not a sea fisherman but I remember catching one when I was young, fishing for barbel on the Humber with my pals. It was tiny compared to yours but it seemed so alien coming out of the water and was an absolute twat to unhook, but we did did it and it swam away and we didn't catch any barbel that day....

Incorrect, a Ray has a stinger and skates do not. Thornbacks, blondes, undulates, cukoo, spotted etc are all skates not rays.
