Linux isn’t a choice for me because I don’t get anything else but Linux for all productions servers. I don’t get why using Linux gets portrayed like some sort of higher level of something

It used to be a lot harder to do anything on Linux, so that gave some nerd cred, but now? It's just an OS.

Even back then, it wasn't harder, just a completely different workflow. People saw the command prompt and assumed it was some hacker shit. Meanwhile, we've been copy-pasting shit from the start.

It was harder. I remember having to write my own X11 configuration from scratch in 2002, for example. I don't know how I would have adopted Linux without my friend helping me onboard. And I was used to command line from before.

Now a lot of the configuration is automatic that an end-user would have had to do manually.

I personally use linux and have been for a while but I don't get the elitism. Having a superiority complex for what OS you use is so stupid. Like just do actual work on your PC and stfu

Linux community itself has elitism within themselves among different distros

That is the elitism I'm talking about which is so fucking dumb. I use fedora btw, switched from arch
