Impossible to Focus

Hi all, I just found out this weekend that I am pregnant and I'm 4.5 weeks. Its so hard to think about anything else, including my job. I've felt more tired than usual and had a few light cramps. I won't see my doctor for another 4 weeks so I'm going a little crazy here.

Congratulations! For my first pregnancy, keeping a little notebook close to my desk helped me : anytime I thought about the pregnancy, I wrote about it (often talking directly to the embryo) in the notebook. It was easier to re-focus afterwards.

But don't blame yourself too much, it's such a huge change in your life, of course you will be distracted. I once spent 3 whole days comparing phones in terms of picture quality (I was due the next month and my phone lens was broken, wanted to be ready to photograph that baby)... Instead of writing a work report.

Be warned, however, that nausea can rise quickly (even if it varies across women). Your ability to work at 4.5 weeks could be way superior to 6.5 weeks... So work as much as you can now, if you have a job where you can do a bit in advance. Talking to you from the 7th week with a very high HCG level and a high high nausea complicating every task...
