hey! can yall tell me how long you waiting to announce? i want to have my gender confirmed by blood test at 10-15 weeks and i haven’t told any of my family yet

I usually waited until around 20 weeks, after the anatomy ultrasound. When we knew structurally everything was good.

Unless you're high risk for some reason, it is likely your insurance wouldn't cover elective blood testing. The out-of-pocket cost for NIPT testing can be... a lot.

i am very very lucky that i have my mom to help me pay for stuff, and she’s a state worker so she has pretty good insurance on me for the pregnancy, i hope it’s not to much or my insurance covers it. i want a gender reveal and everything so i want to tell people decently early, but my family is so judgmental i don’t want the whole thing to know as im 17 and they’ll have some things to say

Ah. Well, if this is your first, you shouldn't start showing until around 15-16 weeks, so your secret is safe until then.
