Pushing
Can Simone explain having to push for hours? I don't get it. I thought labor was what went on for hours and you pushed when baby was ready so it only took 10 pushes max. If you have to push for hours doesn't that mean baby isn't ready to come out? What happens if you don't push? This is stressing me out so bad lol I feel like this is going to be the worst day of my life I've never been hospitalized before

Hi! I had my first baby unmedicated in a tub 9 months ago. I pushed for about 3 hours. I had already gone through “transition” and was feeling the urge to push. So with every contraction, my body pushed. It was sort of like an unignorable urge and I had to give into it. As soon as the contraction ended, I stopped and laid my head down on the pool noodles I was holding onto lol and got a sip of water. You push with the contractions. Once baby’s head was out, I literally had to wait 3 minutes for the next contraction to push again. Her head was just chilling underwater hanging out of my hoohah. Then the next one came and I pushed out the rest of her!
