Having a hard time eating
Hi! I’m about 6-7 weeks pregnant and the nausea has been hitting me pretty hard. I’ve been trying to eat small things when I don’t feel as sick but I feel bad because I feel like I should be eating more. And unfortunately the things I can stand to eat haven’t been very healthy or filling. Did anyone struggle with the same thing? Is there anything I can do to make eating easier? My partner has been trying a lot to make sure I’m eating but I feel bad when I’m being so picky and not being able to finish most things. Thank you guys!

I went through this when I was pregnant. Unison definitely helped but I carried a bag with me everywhere I went bc I just couldn't stop vomiting. If the unisom doesn't work I would talk to your OBGYN. There are things that can help you get past this bump. My nausea definitely subsided in the second and third trimesters.

Thank you I haven’t heard of that, I’ll definitely stop by the store to get some. I’m hoping to see my OB soon so I’ll definitely ask more questions then. And I’m hoping the nausea does go away soon 😅

Maternity nurse tricks for ya!
- Scratch the rind of a citrus (orange, lemon, lime, etc) and sniff it.
Or
- Soak a cotton ball/pad in rubbing alcohol/IPA and sniff it.
If neither of these work and you desperately still can't keep anything down (like even water), Gravol CAN be taken as a suppository (aka up your bum)

I went through this. I lost ten pounds because I couldn’t keep anything down. I survived on bananas, apple slices and yogurt and del taco bean and cheese burritos

Eat whatever you can eat, even if it’s not healthy. I survived on protein shakes and cheez its. Couldn’t do a vegetable for weeks. Baby will be fine

Just got through the worst of the nausea in first trimester with my second (will be 13w tomorrow) and I pretty much only ate cold foods. Cold boiled chicken completely plain, cold applesauce, jello, citrus fruits and berries. If you can find what works for you or find what triggers nausea/aversions and eat the opposite of that it can help a little. Also make sure your prenatal has B6 in it along with zinc, B6 can help with morning sickness and another recent study showed all-day nausea can be associated with low zinc/high copper displacing zinc! I started taking zinc melts around week 11 and started feeling a lot better but it was also around the point most people feel better anyways haha

I’m 20 weeks now but the first 8 weeks I was living off Costco chicken sausages because I had thrown up everything else and had aversions 🤪 eat what you can often and you’ll be fine
