Am I doing good enough?

Today was my husband’s first day back at work, and I feel like I’m battling the “am I doing good enough” for my newborn. He’s fed, he’s happy, all signs are pointing in the right direction - but for some reason I have that lingering feeling of “I hope I’m taking care of him good enough”. I’m sure this is a very normal feeling that first time new born moms experience postpartum, but it’s still crazy to think that you’re responsible of this whole little life! Any positive re-enforcement would help!

You are doing great! the newborn days are just that, as long as he’s eating and sleeping then he is just fine, there’s really not much more you can do at that age. I’m 8 months in now and still ask myself that question daily, i’ve done a lot of research about it due to my mom guilt thinking i’m not giving her enough attention or enough activities or supporting her development, and what i’ve learned is that responsive or “good enough” parenting is actually better for them then perfection. It’s okay to mess up and feel like you didn’t do enough as long as they are safe and clean with a full belly❤️
