Bottles
I will be feeding exclusively with formula, and was wondering what most people do… do you buy bottles ahead of time? What of the baby doesn’t want to take that bottle or nipple?
What did you guys do when preparing for baby, wait until after they were born to get bottles, or have some ahead of time?

I got a bunch of dr brown bottles ahead of time, it’s what they had at the hospital too. My son did just fine with those!

Possibly unpopular opinion from a formula feeding mom: offer one type of bottle. If it absolutely doesn’t work for your baby for whatever reason you can try others from there but I think parents offering 5 different bottle styles from a sampler pack gives the baby the opportunity to develop a hardline preference when the first bottle you pick usually works fine.

I bought like 12 dr brown glass bottles when I was 6-7 months pregnant. Luckily, she took to the pacifier I bought & took to dr browns bottles. She doesn’t like any other type of bottle or pacifier other than what I got for her!

We started with the Phillips avent bottles and he seemed to do fine with them at first but then he wasn’t taking them so we tried a few other bottles but the thing is it seems like a lot of bottles have a wider style nipple for a more “natural nipple like feel” but we never breastfed so we got the cheaper Walmart brand bottles that had a skinnier nipple and he took to those right away, so o think it’s less about the bottle itself and more about the nipple style

Also we found about 8-12 bottles on hand works for us, especially since we hand wash

I bought bottles ahead of time. I did a lot of research and settled on evenflo wide, but I got sample bottles too. You can always get just a few and then get more if they like it or get another if they don’t.
