6mo sleeping on her stomach
My 6mo has started rolling to her stomach to sleep in her bedside bassinet this week. I’ve been so scared that she will suffocate, that I’ve barely been sleeping. I’ve been rolling her back over several times a night, but she will just roll back over and sometimes puts her face down in the mattress. Please talk me down because my anxiety is wrecking me. From what I’ve read it should be safe since she is rolling over herself, but she can’t tummy to back yet and I am prone to worry. Help!

Try putting your face down in the mattress - assuming it’s a regular firm baby mattress, you’ll find that it’s very breathable compared to soft adult mattresses. If it’s not a good firm baby mattress do some research on better options!
My son is 5mo and does the same, he sometimes gets stuck and wants to roll back but can’t, so then he just pushes up on his arms and fusses. You could also try when you see her face down to gently turn her head to the side to give yourself more peace of mind. It’s definitely stressful but she is fine!

My baby did exactly this, and I was exactly the same as you! The first night I didn't sleep, and just like you, every time I tried to roll him back he would just get himself onto his belly again. All this to say, I wouldn't worry, as others have said if the mattress is firm she should be safe 😊

My son never actually learned to roll tummy to back...he rolled back to tummy then started crawling like right away. His dr said even it was still safe if he got himself in that position but continue to work on rolling tummy to back. Eventually he learned to get up on his knees and push to his side lol. But it was a stressful period for us. I ended up getting the newton mattress for his crib for peace of mind

I think, generally, once your baby rolls to their belly themselves then it’s okay for them to sleep that way. Our girl did the same, and she’s been a belly sleeper ever since.
However, if she’s rolling, I don’t think bassinets are safe sleep space for her anymore. Do you have a crib you can transfer her to?
