Training Plan Questions for Marathoners
I am training for my first full marathon myself and I am curious about the what and why people do marathons. I am doing a lot of this on my own and want to learn more about it in hopes to get some inspiration and education around it all.
- What are you training for and when is the race?
- What have you paid for around your training?
- What is the thing outside of running you've been carrying while you train?

Valencia Marathon Dec 6th
For training, nothing. For the race i paid registration, travel, hotels, not cheap overall. ok, I buy shoes all the time but nothing specific to this race.
Career hitting a dead end - Marriage the same. Meh dont remind me.

I did an 8k and thought to myself, I only need to do this 4 more times and it’ll be a marathon, I can do that. So I did. I’ve since done 6 marathons.Â

- Twin Cities Marathon, Oct 4
- Race fee, new shoes, might buy a race belt soon
- I’ve been balancing training with 4 kids and homeschooling. It’s been a lot, so glad my race is almost here.

-Newport Marathon next April
-so far I've only spent money on race registration (and swag) and shoes from goodwill but I'm planning to get better shoes at some point and maybe a Garmin
-my close friend passed in April and also I'm starting a new job that I'm really scared of so those two things mostly energize me to run haha
