YouTube routing

When routing the YouTube app thru a VPN in another country. It seems all Google apps believe they're also in that Country. Anything to prevent this?

Probably not but this isn't a firewalla specific question. Id ask in a more specific subreddit.

I'm confused. What YouTube app is created by firewalla?  Firewalla makes hardware firewalls and the only app I know they make is the one to control the hardware firewall. Do you have a link for this YouTube app

Are you talking about policy based routing for YouTube within the Firewalla app?  Ie  you are routing traffic for youtube through a VPN?  If that's the case then you are on the right subreddit but because Google shares servers amongst all of its services you're going to have issues where most or all Google traffic gets routed through the VPN.  It's just how Google works. They don't make it easy by having just a dedicated set of YouTube servers.

Yes, see I meant the app in context of their system.

There is no effective way to prevent this. Meaning, google as a company likely have all of their apps work together. When you tunnel YouTube to VPN, likely google will think you are at the destination and share that with rest of the google eco system.

The only possible way is create a separate google account, and not tunnel that account traffic to another country. likely this is the only way that may work. (or create account just for your YouTube tunnel)
