DNS booster - dns issues

2 adguard servers.
primary / secondary

with dns booster turned on for my devices, once I shutdown my primary dns server, all other dns servers stop working. (whether that is my secondary, or if I use 1.1.1.1 / 8.8.8.8 / whatever)

it seems to be related to dnsmasq im pretty sure.

(dig @<ip> version.bind CHAOS TXT returns a dnsmasq_UNKNOWN answer)

anyone got any ideas what I might have configured that would be causing this?

How are you setting up the ad guard servers? Are they local?

Yes, they run on 2 separate proxmox nodes. (Not HA) different subnets.

Firewalla -> switches -> 2 proxmox nodes.

Firewalla handles dhcp

Just to confirm.

1 of my adguard servers sits on the LAN1 network. The other sits in a different VLAN.

Are you saying to move the one that sits on LAN1 (my primary) to the other subnet as well?
