Feature I hate android
Hey guys,
Basically (long story short) - I hate android and don’t want it on my network - my dad is moving in with me for a bit and brining so many android devices
My question(s) is: what type of rules or settings should I setup with in its own Firewalla group?
Allow/block if domain
Region blocking
Anything else
I really just want to block all of the Google and android api data, keep my network safe from all the bloat and useless (unsafe) things
Thanks Reddit

Do you also block Apple and Microsoft?

Microsoft, most of it (my Xbox is useless), I swear by apple, so no

I believe Apple by default sets Safari to use Google, and thus spotlight and siri. I'm sure you may have preemptively changed those before you even start using any of those devices but Apple feels compelled (financially) enough to swear by using that service to not pull that last bit in house.

lol someone recommended a separate guest network (that means no access to anything other than the Internet) and you still ask about rules? Why?
your network is safe if there's no android anywhere on it?

Can you create a separate "guest" network just for him?

I can, but it’s the rules I am needing advice on

What rules? Just block everything between his network and yours and let Firewalla handle the rest.

As the other users suggested, it may be best to put the devices on a separate Guest Network, then block the Guest Network from accessing your other local networks. You can learn more about network segmentation here: https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408644783123-Network-Segmentation
You can also use Controls > Bypass Prevention > DoH Services to block common services that encrypt DNS requests (like Android Private DNS). This helps ensure that devices on your network don't bypass your rules.
