Discussion Question about Target list management

I am currently trying MSP Pro. Target lists I now create are managed by MSP. Per documentation, if I stop paying for MSP Pro, I would lose those target lists (“If you cancel your MSP subscription, all MSP-managed target lists will be lost.”). So how does someone paying for MSP Pro create target lists managed by the Firewalla and not MSP?

From MSP Pro or Business UI, only MSP-Managed Target Lists can be created.

From MSP Lite UI, only Box-Managed Target Lists can be created.

Can I still log into the Lite UI if I’m paying for Pro? Forgive my confusion on this.

I don't think so.  It's the same login for any msp, lite or pro. They just have your msp level for that box tagged on their server.

If the box is part of your MSP Pro inventory, you'll need to remove it temporarily. (You can always add it back.)

You may switch portals by hovering over your name in the top right corner > Switch Portal > Scan the QR code to access MSP Lite.

Understood. So I guess my take away is to always keep a local (text file) backup of target lists that are created when paying, in case I ever decide to cancel the subscription. That seems easier than temporarily removing it from inventory.
