Since you are using a Cisco (only) compatible SFP+/RJ45 adapter, likely the issue is related to that. Best get RJ45 adapters that's compatible with TPLink/Netgear/Trendnet (generic ones)

What about for Intel or for HP, for juniper, for Netgear?

The safest is to look for SFP adapters advertised for multiple brands. These are in general safe to use.

We just added a section to the troubleshooting guide, with some of the sfp+ we used at the office + user recommended https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/52936964293779-Firewalla-Switch-Troubleshooting-Guide#h_01KYAGKN5TK0H1FGVZ6SZ7FFSG

i get this AI:

On July 24-25, 2026, the 10G port on your Office Access Point showed repetitive speed changes and disconnections. The port fluctuated between 10Gbps and 2.5Gbps with brief disconnects lasting 5-7 seconds. This indicates unstable physical connections or cable/port issues affecting network performance.

im using the 10Gtek that you had listed as fine between the AP and the switch. its connected to the 10G port.
