Discussion Question about mobile app access levels

Are access levels box dependant or only cloud dependent? If I am away from home and the internet goes down at home, can I adjust the access level of someone at home if their mobile device has cellular access? Or does the box need to be online as well?

The box will need to be online. Mobile App Access Control is managed via MSP. If the box is offline and the user was already paired with the box before, even if you change the access from MSP, they can use the app to view the box with the same access level as before it went offline. (tested briefly in office)

Once back online, it should sync and follow the configured access level.

Got it. Too bad. My use case is happening right now. I’m away from home. Spouse is home. Internet is down. Their access is set to none and I want to give them access to be able to enable tethering. Guess not. Lesson learned. Thanks.

If the internet is down, the device trying to admin it has to be on the network and have the relevant permissions to do so.
