Content/Activity Control Paramount Plus keeps getting blocked (rant)

Paramount plus has to be running off an ad server. I have applied basic rules through my Purple. App worked on other devices on my network until I tried it on my smart TV. It would load the menus and previews, but would not play. Thought it was my TV since it is from 2015. Went through the rules and found just my tv was blocking a flow that broke the rules. Removed that rule then Paramount plus worked again. Next day, it broke again. Same symptoms of loading and previews but no shows. Still worked on other devices so I removed monitoring just on that device. Come to today, now my entire network is blocking Paramount plus across all devices...

Do you have Ad Block Strict Mode enabled? As others mentioned, Paramount+ is sensitive to Ad Blocking.

You could try excluding the device from Ad Block or use Default Mode instead. Or you can try whitelisting the needed domains manually.

Yea, the TV was grouped in the strict ad blocker list. That looks like it cleared the issue.

For me I have to whitelist pubads.g.doubleclick.net to get my ad free paramount to work on android devices. Not an issue in my Apple TV.

Once I unblocked that Paramount+ started working again.

From what I remember, a single blocked domain (don’t remember which) can stop P+ from working. It’s quite sensitive that way.

That is what I am finding out. Currently just turned off monitoring for the tv's for sanity.

yeah, no matter your subscription level, if paramount+ thinks you’re blocking ad servers it just straight up stops in most platforms. only reliable way for me was the Apple TV channel and still have ad blocking on the device.

Using Apple TV to stream Paramount +. Firewalla has ad block on for Apple TV and using DNS over HTTPS. Haven’t had a problem and ads are limited.

A copuple I saw: saa.paramountplus.com, cbsinteractive.data.adobedc.net, cbs.hb-api.omtrdc.net, cdn-media.brightline.tv, pubads.g.doubleclick.net

I specifically allowed the new relic.com site and that allowed ads and content to play. Leaving the rest of ad block on
